It is a 26mm TGN. I put in some spacers and set it shallow because I like good flow through and did not want a lot of backbone. Since I set it shallow it looks huge and it feels more like a 30mm knot.

Thursday shave:

After retouching this razor the edge was a little below par so I took it to the pasted strop and now the edge is acceptable. I though I nailed this shave but just short of BBS, no feed back from the alum but I did give myself a small nick with the heel when I lost focus.

Was such a good shave tonight, I was ready to borrow the term epic, but when I was all rinsed off, I noticed a two little weepers on my lower neck. The Junior has a deceptively mild feel to it, and I am prone to getting a little bit rammy with it when I go ATG in that area.

It was nothing a little cold water couldn't fix, and I am pleasantly BBS'd.

Hijack alert: The hotel I am staying in has very dark green carpet. On Monday I hung my laundry bag in a little alcove-y area. I was so beat, when I got in the shower I just threw my dirty clothes in the general direction of the bag, and they landed on the floor in the darkened corner. Tuesday night after work, I scooped them up and was stuffing them in the sack, when I noticed a black and silky undergarment going into the bag with my clothes. I came THIS close to packing home some woman's panties in my laundry for my wife to find. Somehow I doubt the fact that they were big enough to successfully use as a parachute would have made much of a difference to my wife.

Actually, when I told my wife, she said she probably would have been more understanding if they were tiny and hot.

Thanks, Jason. The brush is made of spalted tamarind, and was turned by a young man named Tom Zmuda from "Manhandled Woodshop". He was trying to sell some shaving brushes to make some extra money while he was going to school. He disappeared from the forums a while back now.

Sometimes when you are working with a beautiful piece of wood, it is almost better to 'get out of its way' and come up with a simple design that showcases that natural beauty. The skill in that case is how to highlight grain, figuring, knots or even the difference between heart and pithwood. I think young Tom Z understood that with your brush. I have to remind myself of that at times.

I opened the bottle of Avon AS, sniffed, and went straight to the Tabac. Damp synthetic knot in the Cypress handle by our Jason @jtspartan, quick loading & easy lathering off the hard puck. Didn't check the blade but it was in fine order for three passes, S-slides, & chin buffing. Such a smooth process I skipped the alum. This AS may be simply classified as a fougère, but there's a lot going on here. From basenotes.net;
