Sunday's Planned Shave: prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(Energy) shave-Wintergreen by Stirling brush-"Lil Brudder" by Stirling razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A,.S.- Stirling Sample(Gatlinburg)* *trying to see if the Gatlinburg "cools off" a bit with the Wintergreen
I see you have the 4 oz. Gatlinburg. It passed your smell test, eh?(course there's more to an AS than just smell, and it IS Stirling, after all).
It has been a while since I was here. This has been a busy summer. I hope everyone has had a terrific summer. Today I used my Rockwell razor with a Derby blade. Pretty fine shave overall. The striking Barber Shop soap is excellent. The DR Harris is my wife favourite aftershave. I like too but TOBBS Sandalwood is probably my favourite. This is the first brush I had. It is a brandless badger.
FRIDAY'S SHAVE Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: GSB Brush: Razorock Plissoft Soap: Mike's Vetiver Post: Peach Thayer's WH, Royall Rugby EDT Had a bit of a rough shave yesterday. The lather from the Mike's Vetiver was nice and creamy, but accidently used a old blade that was dull as a butter knife. Got some irritation and nicks on the neck. This Royall Rugby is a beautiful fresh Vetiver scent that is quickly becoming the scent I reach for in the den. SATURDAY SHAVE Prep: pre shave soap mix Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech Blade: Laser Platinum Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft Soap: Grooming Dept Aether Post: Myrsol Emulsion, HI Karate A/S This was one of those epic shaves, perfect in every way. The menthol in the pre shave is nice and powerful and mixed great with the scent of Aether, performance of this duck tallow formula is nothing short of amazing. Lather held a ton of water, so much that lather was falling off the razor in big globs. Post shave feel is excellent, really didn't need a balm but had some damage done with yesterdays shave so figured it couldn't hurt. Today is my birthday so was very pleased to have such a great shave. Finished off with HI Karate, loving the old school scent. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!
It definitely passed my smell test. It is unique among my scents, and it probably isn't an everyday type of thing for me, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. I know he calls it Gatlinburg, but it reminds me of Asheville, NC after a rain storm.

Shave Secret and shower prep, EJ synthetic Siler tip and Proraso red superlathered with Cremo Sandalwood, Tech and an Astra SP, Thayers Rose and Clubman classic barber cream post shave. Delightful but a bit of a challenge to bowl lather the Proraso up with the softness of the EJ Synth. I'm in a Synth brush passaround so I am trying to avoid directly puck lathering as I normally load.
