My new $1 antique fair Old Type "Castrato" model sang beautifully with a fresh Chinese Wilkie. This blade seems just great to me. What's not to like. Easy BBS head shave in 2+. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Maybe somebody with an extra ball can help a poor guy out. A rare condition, but probably less so on this forum Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Manufactured in China for Indian distribution as of sometime in 2014 I think. Similar to the arrangement manufacturing in Shanghai the Super Thin and Goal for SE Asian markets. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Schick G5 razor Personna blade WD Synthetic brush Stirling Margaritas in the Artic SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe M&L Florida Water cologne w/added menthol I did not like this shave. The G5 was rough and got me a couple times. Changed the blade thinking that might be the problem but it wasn't. That one goes back on the shelf. Sure is nice to look at though. Anyway, my face is not happy but I hope y'all have a better one. Now go enjoy your day folks.
Monday Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Arkadia Soap: TOBS Avocado Cream Razor: Gillette Fat Boy Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Green Super Stainless (Shave #1) Brush: John’s Brushes Silvertip-22mmx48mm Aftershave: Country Club Frozen Vetiver WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard) TOBS Avocado Cream today. 10 seconds to load the JB Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. I loaded a new Gillette 7 O’Clock Green SS in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Country Club Frozen Vetiver aftershave. Bob
In the case of the Wilkinsons I think what's on the tuck is determinative, in the case of the Goal and Super Thins there's nothing there to indicate place of manufacture. Maggard, I'm told sells Wilkies of both Chinese and Indian manufacture, and it's a mixed bag on Amazon as well. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Tuesday morning's freeze: Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Astra day 2 Stirling Glacial Margaritas in the Arctic SS Stirling Glacial Unscented AS Balm Osage Rub AS Splash Obsession For Men EdT For this damned heat wave I need to freeze myself as much as possible. Let's face facts, the regular MITA soap is nice and cold but it still doesn't come even close to the Glacial version in terms of menthol power. The Glacial Unscented balm, together with the Rubby Dubby Doo will give me that extra icy punch that I love so much!

RAZOR: Sabi Gen 1 TTO - (4 inch brass handle, medium weight, Gunmetal finish) - was an early impulse purchase. Cheap, but I like it. BLADE: FRESH DORCO ST-300 Super Platinum PRE SHAVE: Rite Aid RENEWAL skin cleansing cream - nice menthol. SHAVE CREAM: C. O. Bigelow- Small tube. I like this one. Love the eucalyptis. BRUSH: SheaMoisture Ultimate Shave Brush - black badger knot. It just works! Plenty of rich lather for multiple passes. POST SHAVE: NONE AFTER SHAVE: Flag and Sail Brisk- this Skin Bracer clone has a nice menthol punch! BALM: Maison the Collection - Moroccan Mint Tea Lotion - used this later in the day to freshen up. Got a very respectable 4 pass BBS with some additional touchup work under the neck. I have not used this razor in a long time. Got it from Shave-A-Buck a number of years ago. It is a brass razor and cost less than $10-$15 back then. It is one of my first DE's and my very first TTO type razor. The Gunmetal finish is what enticed me to buy it. It is a good looking razor. The TTO nut is directly under the head of the razor, so no chance of loosening it unintentionally during the shave. This SABI Gen 1 is more aggressive than the Micro One Touch that I recently acquired. The razor has lots of auditory feedback. But the shave this morning was not as smooth as I normally get and have come to expect. Maybe it was the blade. In general, though, I have had very nice, smooth shaves with these Dorco blades in my other DE razors. I should have hand stropped it to see if that would have smoothed out the shave. I will try to remember that for next time I use this razor. BUT - All said and done - a great MENTHOL Monday shave!
