I'm not a huge coffee drinker, I probably had my first cup maybe 3 years ago, and I'm old. I like it hot and blonde.
Vegan & it also just tastes REALLY good. If I'm feeling wild, I will go extra light on the cream and put a little dash of Torani toasted marshmallow syrup in... mmmhmm! I have a sweet tooth, I must admit.
Can't say I'm into flavored coffees. On very rare occasions, around Christmas, I'll add a pinch or two of ground cinnamon and a shake of ground nutmeg atop the grounds before brewing. My preferred is Kenya beans, home roasted to full city ( maybe a touch past a medium roast), brewed hot and black.
If you're a DIYer, home roasting is really easy (@richgem ). A stovetop popcorn popper and a half hour. Doesn't get any fresher. https://www.sweetmarias.com/product/stovetop-roasting-starter-kit
Espresso pump at home with steamer, so mostly a good latte/cappucino. Very much enjoy a cafetiere of fresh ground, black, as a change. Really not into instant so only rarely, with milk and as much sugar as I can put my hands on.
I thought this was funny; in Africa raw sugar is FAR cheaper than refined white sugar. So while we were there, we enjoyed the raw sugar.
It's also funny in that since refined sugar goes through extra processes, raw sugar is more expensive here.
Black coffee drinker. No sweetener nor creamer. I subscribe to Peet's and get two pounds of beans every month that ship the day after the roast date. They're the closest thing in beans I've found to home-roasted freshness. My youngest is a barista at Starbucks so he brings home 3-4 bags of beans every couple of weeks. Not a real fan of many of the Starbuck's blends but my having tried pretty much everything they offer (including some of their limited releases), I can say that they do make some quality roasts.
once or twice a year. I lost my taste for it 3 or 4 years ago. Never fear, a cup of hot tea is always the ticket!
Five years later and I still only take a shot of heavy cream, or half and half if that's what around. It's weird how milk detracts from the taste of my coffee. Waters it down.
