A wonderful three pass shave with a brand-new container of Electric Sheep soap - the lather was so rich, dense, and heavy that while I was loading my Plissoft synthetic it started to overflow from the container. The great citronella scent filled the bathroom as well. I really shouldn't have shaved at all today because of it being Yom Kippur, but as I stated yesterday I just can't go a day without a shower and a shave. I also couldn't resist temptation, so I slapped on a little Booster Polar Ice aftershave - did that ever feel good! (My wife wanted to shoot me!) I'm leaving soon for the synagogue and I wish everyone a great weekend!
Smooth Saturday Go Green Go White - hopefully my team can bounce back from a dreadful performance last week to beat Iowa! The shave was comfortable, but I did get some redness after, perhaps I'm still getting used to the scrubbiness of the boar. Or, maybe this Astra SP aged too quickly. loaded more this time, but still not enough for three passes. YRP is a nice compliment to Port au Prince. I noticed a vetiver cologne at Bath and Body Works yesterday - they are really expanding their Bigelow line. I didn't buy it, but I might at some point. SOTD: Peaceful & leisurely morning shave using this Brian Brown custom 6/8" French-point razor, Martin de Candre soap, custom Jayaruh two-band badger brush, TSD 'Iced Jasmine' aftershave splash. Great start to the weekend. Have a good one, gents!
German 37 / Super Max BDT. The light weight (24.7g) German 37 head comes (mis)matched with the standard 70g stainless handle which in this reporters opinion may be easy for Razorock and fine for the heavier is always better crowd but it makes no sense to me. I tried the PAA Bakelite Slant handle (which I filled with tungsten putty) but ultimately landed on the titanium Halo as the best for me. This is for me a mild razor which requires attention to angle to perform at its best. Doing so yields a great shave. I may get 200 of the Super Max blades from Connaught, very nice blades for a great price. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Stephan, as you've probably learned from my posts, is the only Bay Rum A.S. I've tried so far. I was quite pleased with it.
