    Questions about your brush!
Boar bristle? Bulb or flat top/ fan?
Did you purchase it with the knot in, or is it a refurbish?

Pre-shave: A beer (not pictured) and a hot shower (also not pictured)
    Soap: Williams
    Brush: VDH Boar
Razor: vintage Probak 3 piece OC
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (4)
Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Aqua Velva AS Balm, Walgreens Cooling AS

I spent the day lake fishing so I didn't get showered and shaved until late today. I had a pleasant day at the lake but none of the fish wanted to play today... no bites, nibbles or jumping out of the water. I don't usually get bored fishing, even when the fish aren't biting but this time I took the lunch hour off and went to a small town nearby to check out a couple of antique stores. That "fishing" trip paid off in that I acquired a Gillette Adjustable J2 (1964) in great shape (picture included). So, at least I felt the day was fruitful.

I did a face and head shave this evening. The Williams lathered up very well, and I got a close, comfortable face shave. I was working up the lather to do a head shave, but always wanting to try something new, I grabbed my bottle of Head Slick Shave Cream and added some of that to my Williams lather. Wow! That really added some creamy texture to the lather and the lather remained consistent (no dissipating) and slick throughout the head shave. I'll have to do that again!

Overall, the shaving was the best part of the day.... except for the Gillette Adjustable I found. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Okay... so I decided to add a picture of the beer. But I will not add a picture of the shower!
    IMG_1268.JPG

This is what I added to the Williams for the head shave. The resulting lather was outstanding!

This is the only "fish" I managed to catch today....

Razor - Gillette New LC Delta Echo Raffle Winner
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Well, as usual, the Feather is smoother on day two than one. At least that's how it works for me. Not that it wasn't smooth last night, just seems to lose that little harsh feel it has on the first shave. In other words, a very nice shave. When I replied to the favorite shaving gear thread today the New LC was one of the two or three razors in the running for my favorite. I settled on the Fatboy, only because of its versatility. I could shave with a New as my daily shaver and never complain.

Fantastic lather from the JR46 and Soap Commander and the alum was quiet. The baby is in the house. A very fine shave tonight with no complaints. One more shave on this setup and then I'll spend a few days on some fun stuff. Ok, ok, yes this is fun to get shaves like this but.....you know me. Or do you? :signs002: Yeah, I'm sure you do. Have a great Friday!!!

Here are a couple of the great shaves I got this week:
Tuesday 10/03/2017 - Very clean BBS all around!
RAZOR: Sabi Gen 1 TTO - (4 inch brass handle, medium weight, Gunmetal finish) - my MOST aggressive TTO
BLADE: DORCO ST-300 Platinum - * shim added under blade
PRE SHAVE: Rite Aid RENEWAL skin cleansing cream
SHAVE CREAM: Pacific Caffeinated SHAVING CREAM - COOLING spearmint
BRUSH: SheaMoisture Ultimate Shave Brush - black badger knot. Plenty of rich lather for multiple passes.
    POST SHAVE: NONE
AFTER SHAVE: Murray & Lanman Florida Water Cologne
    Sabi_Gen1_SheaMoisture_Pacific.jpg
Thursday 10/05/2017 - Very nice and quick DFS shave (BBS on the cheeks)!
RAZOR: Micro Touch One - TTO DE and a good shaver, more mild than I usually prefer.
BLADE: Astra Superior Platinum DE blade - this used blade was not up to the task for BBS under the neck - too dull.
PREP: hot water wash and rinse
    BRUSH: NO
PRESHAVE: Tree Hut Shea Body Butter - Coconut Lime - adds nice moisture & slickness
CREAM: Personal CARE Extra Thick SENSITIVE Shave Cream
    POST SHAVE: hot water rinse
AFTER SHAVE: Barber Shop Classics Booster Iced Lime
Total BBS was just out of reach. Maybe with better prep and more time...

Thanks. I just soaked it in alcohol and polished it up with Brasso when I received it. It cleans up fairly good.

I am not familiar with your vintage Probak. It looks great and I like the low profile head design. How does it shave?
