Tonight's shave was with a nice True Wedge razor. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave, with BBS result. Great shave, except for the soap issues. Great razor. Razor- "Spike", by Union Cutlery. True wedge. Brush- Stirling Boar Soap- The Village Soap Smith, Eucalyptus & Mint. Not a fan. Aftershave- Avon Spicy
Saturday Straights/OC Shave Proraso Pre Shave Mitchell's Wool Fat Jayaruh #224 Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 Gillette New Improved Gillette Silver Blue CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman Since this is OCtober, I am fudging a bit and including my Gillette New Improved in this shave as my clean-up instrument. I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Mitchell's Wool Fat face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 synthetic brush. I did the first pass with my Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 straight (an incredibly smooth pass} and clean up with the Gillette New Improved and Gillette Silver Blue blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

6/8 Hoffritz CS Oxford & Cambridge Tuxedo knot Versace Black Oud Excellent shave this morning. The Tuxedo is a pretty nice knot, IMO. I'm picky about synthetic brushes. I like the Muhle silver tip fiber and the original HIS but would shorten the His knot considerably. I'm more of a natural fiber shaver I like boars and badger but this Tuxedo will play ball. I have a Cashmere knot in the mail and also found a good deal on a Simpsons Chubby 2 synthetic on the "bay" so ........ I guess I'll be playing with synthetics for awhile. Have a good one.

Those SSA Eskilstuna Razors are Hidden Gems..They Take One Serious Keen Edge..Quite Like the More Famous C.V Heljestrand..I Never Should have Sold My SSA 5/8th +..I Didn't Realize How Special they were at the Time Cause there are No Other SRs Quite Ground Like these.. A Lot of them are 1/2 or 3/4 Hollows but as Thinly Ground Towards the Edge as Some Extra Full Hollows & they Can Sing Like a Canary.. Billy..

Tonight's shave was with a Razor I enjoy, when it comes around in rotation. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, with BDBS results. One small cut, under the nose. Very very tiny, but it hurt light a "Son-Of-A-Gun". Lovely Razor, that takes a wickedly sharp edge. Razor- German Made. "Gong Razor". Extra Hollow Ground. Brush- Omega 10066 Boar Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Aftershave- "Spicy", By Family Dollar. It's an Old Spice knock-off. They do a very good, and very inexpensive job with it. It's great if you want the near Shulton scent, at a rock bottom price.
