Picked up this lot weekend at the flea market. I razor that I cant read the name but looks pretty old and I like the barbers notch look. A Bengall and Joseph Rodgers both with pretty nice scales. Lastly a Joseph Elliot with decorative scales, looks like the razor was shortened at some point but they were a lot so they all came home with me. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
A new Wade & Butcher just arrived. The Horn scales are a little flea bitten, but for $9.26, I can deal with that. I think I will try to put some Razor Restore Voodoo on these, to save them.
Picked up this lot week from a Social Media site Marketplace. I have a lot of cleaning to do! There are Two Bismarck razors, Heljestrand MK31, Henry H Taylor & Brother, Wester Bros 6/8 & 5/8, Wostenholm, ERN, etc.
Yep & Yep! C.T. Bingham, 1852-1863 (Post-Freddie Fenney, 1822-1852) The case date is pressed '1851'—which could mean either Bingham utilized Fenney's left-over inventory of cases for his newly-stamped 'Late F. Fenney' razors or this particular case originated with another razor. Either way, they're quality shavers!
Those are some fine looking razors. There are some outstanding artisans these days. I can't wait to hear how they shave.
The Rigarazors I have already used and they are superb. They epitomize sharp. I will use the green Martinez blade tomorrow and report back. The snakewod one I will use Saturday.
I picked up this Victor Silver Steel SR some time ago and am just getting around to put a spit polish on the blade. (Just kidding...I use Mother's Mag and Aluminium Polish). Overall in very good condition, tight scales, edge is good. Just need to get it on the stones and it should be ready to go. I am uploading two pics, one shows off the etching on the blade better than the other. Same razor...different "filters".
My wife had a business meeting 100 miles from the house today and I decided to drive her and go razor hunting. I saw a couple of ODH boxes in a display and asked to take a look. I found five nice razors in that case and gave them a lowball offer, which they accepted. I found the old pipe rack in the same shop. The W&B was from another shop. It was a good day This display looked promising. Giesen and Forsthoff Adoration, F.W. Engels Special, S. R. Droescher Gold Bug Salamander, Genco Wedge, Wade and Butcher “The Clean Shaver” The bevel needs some work, but it’s in nice shape. The pipe rack will hold 24 straights. I’m going to pass on the Antiques Fair tomorrow. I think I have enough for the weekend
