I forgot how much I like the smell of the soap. I think I’ll rename this razor the silent assassin. It’s just wipes off the whiskers. TSD Barber Shoppe Soap B-400 Brush by Tom H. & J. W. King Razor Alum Lucky Tiger Vintage Old Spice After Shave Have a Blessed Sunday!
Don't get carried away. We won't be taking warm showers together 'til the wee hours of the morning or anything. Just a little acknowledgment of the effort
OCtober 8, 2017 Timeless OC 0.95mm with Triad Ti Aristocrat Feather Shavemac LE with DO1 2 Band Flat Top Reef Point Test Depth Witch Hazel with Menthol Cool Water EDT I was able to take my time this morning and enjoy the shave. The big flat top is eating through the Test Depth soap. While I am not crazy about the scent, I do really like Reef Point tallow based soap. Since I had the time, I went with a traditional 3 pass shave this morning. With minimal touch ups along my jaw line, I easily caught the baby but did end up with one weeper. For some reason it takes me a couple of shaves to get reacquainted with the Timeless. Off to visit my mother for the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
OCtober 8 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush MdC Gillette New LC Stirling Unscented PSB Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender It is amazing at how good shaves are after a day or two off. It was very smooth and effortless for just shy of a BBS. I finished with some Unconditional Surrender, which was the first time my wife has been around while using it. She definitely approves, as do my my kids. I am looking forward to this Sunday. I hope everyone has a great day!
Today was day 2 back with the straight. Although I enjoyed two gash-free passes and was feeling pretty good about myself having escaped injury and finishing with a third pass with the DE, this satisfaction lasted only until I applied the alum block. Pretty sure someone substituted a bar made from acid. Only now, four hours later, is the fire starting to subside. A few reminders that I forgot - 1. Skin stretch like your epidermis depends on it. It does. 2. Go slow - this isn’t a quick, casual shave. 3. Be patient. You are at least 100 shaves away from being good at this, and the bar is ultimately set higher than “don’t cut yourself”.
Great looking photo. At least you finished the drive before all the weather arrived. The brush really pops against the background. Fantastic photo and lineup Jim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
