Boy my entry on this was clearly way too pessimistic. That'll teach me to see the Arko as half full instead of half empty next time.
I keep a stick of Arko in my work locker as well as in my dopp bag. Hadn't used it in a while so I broke from my regular rotation and grabbed my arko stick. Easily produced enough lather for a 3 pass shave and touch up's with enough left over for another pass. The scent still reminds me of ivory soap. I don't mind it. Lather is nice with plenty of cushion. Slickness is very good. No nics or cuts to the face while shaving. Rinsed off well and gave my face a nice tallow conditioning feel. Followed it up with a splash of La Toja aftershave and a few minutes later some shea butter as Arko has left my skin on the dry side if I don't use any moisturizer in the past. Its a solid performer and a great value when bought by the case.
It is obvious that all of us way underestimated how long this stick would last. It just keeps on going. Can you stretch it to 250?
I just discovered this thread...Man, Arko has always been my Highlander soap, "If there could be only one"!! I shaved every day with Arko for years and my appreciation never diminished! So you guys are counting the number of shaves to a stick....hmmm....I never counted, but I used to think like 3 months...shaving every day...even if I really just keep applying...going for monster lather...lol!
