Thanks. Interesting it is. I'm sitting here rubbing my face, and it did give a great shave, but just odd feeling . It's fun to look at, and I will probably break it out, every now and again.

Thanks, it's fun to look at. I need to dedicate a shelf, to Old Spice, like you.

    Is that a frameback?

Frameback, with an interchangeable blade. Several of the older French Framebacks were made like this. I have one on its way from France now, along with six spare blades.

Thank you Doug! I will enjoy the soap & AS until they run out. The hardware should last my lifetime, and someone else's, too. Now that the photo's on the internet, it's forever.

Thanks Jim. Figured since I was gong old school with my beloved Toggle I might as well go vintage look with the pic

Razor - Gem Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - Stirling Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Time for the second shave on the MMOC. After last night's somewhat rough finish, irritation wise, I was eager to see if I learned anything. Apparently I did. Tonight's shave was quite comfortable and the alum was a lot quieter at the finish. The finish, by the way, was very nearly the baby. So close.

The key was knowing the angle instead of having to find it, and never letting it change while letting the weight of the razor handle the work. Light touch, right angle, great Tabac lather from the big Stirling brush and the end result was great. The feel during the shave was also great and the audible on the blade was quite nice. Can't complain any about this one. Makes you think that if Gem had been better at marketing if they could have been more dominant. The shaves I get with their razors are always great.

A day closer to Friday. Hope your Wednesday treated you well!

I hate these rushed shaves because they rarely turn out good. This one did, however. I lathered up quickly with the Gada Cool Mint cream and got in two fast passes which gave me a DFS+ shave which felt very cooling and comfortable. At least I was able to use the Glacial Lemon Chill balm, witch hazel, and Snake Bite aftershave and enjoy them.

    Have a nice day!
