SOTD 10.16.2017 Pre-shave: hot shower Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin Blade: Personna Blue (2) Razor: Gillette Black Beauty (P-3) Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm, Skin Bracer AS This was my first use of the 1970 Gillette Adjustable 109. I had four days worth of stubble and unsure where I start, I simply started at setting 1. It was a smooth, comfortable 1st pass, and I still had stubble on my chin and neck area, which isn't unusual for me. I decided to change the setting to a 3 and did my second pass, and afterwards double-checking what had been missed or needed some clean-up, I thought, "WOW! This is great!" I think I love this razor. I did a clean up pass on my neck but I don't think I needed it. I declared a BBS!

OCtober!!! October 16 Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (3) Pre-shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Soap - Truefitt & Hill 1805 Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum Shave 3 of 3 with this setup and I'm sorry to see it go. The Fatip is an amazing razor that really delivers fantastic shaves. It can also be a biter but it has treated me like a king this week. The Stirling pre-shave has also helped I'm sure as I have liked the slickness it adds to the shave as well as the after-shave feel. The minimalist inside me is still saying "STOP THAT" but the results are making that voice softer and softer all the time. The Truefitt & Hill soap got away from me just a bit tonight. I gave it a little too much water and it tried pulling a Williams on my and disappearing. A bit of rework got the lather back where it should be so no problems after that. Two passes tonight, some touch up and I settled for a very nice DFS just because I'm pretty mellow after a nice day off. Mowed the lawn today (hopefully the last time this year) and spent some money on shaving stuff as well as getting my head shave in a day early this week. Yep, it's all good in the Lou tonight. I'm not sure where I'm going gear-wise tomorrow. I have an idea that is half crazy, half inspired. Probably more like 80/20 on that regard. We'll see how my brain sorts it out before tomorrow night.
Thank you! The brush shape was part of a limited one time run by TSD forum member @jtspartan. I was so honored to be a part of the run that I made it my daily brush. There are a few of these around, each one hand turned, stained and finished. The knot he and @Fly2High selected for me is the Tuxedo synthetic and it is as good as anything I've ever used, normally face lathering from a loaded brush; or as was the case today with a shave cream, face lathered from a loaded beard.
Well, for my late Grandfather's 86th birthday I took my grandmother to the cemetery and she wanted a Sonic cheeseburger and onion rings like he would've wanted! So we grabbed said grub, took the weedeater and blower and flowers and went and had a hamburger with him! Cleaned up the family headstones and rearranged the flowers and edged up around the area. I was very lucky to have him in my life as long and as much as he was and am very lucky to have my grandmother still "across the creek" at a healthy 86 and moving along! Now it's time to use his Gillette Knack and scalp my dome and fall asleep blissfully!
