1. This Wade & Butcher was included in a lot of razor, a while back, and I am working on it today. It cost $10, and is a 7/8 inch blade, except the edge is a little Snaggle Toothed. It looks like someone got pissed off and banged it on the side of the sink, a few times. This will be a full on restore. I've already stabilized cracks in the handle, at both ends.
I figured for the money, what the heck. Might as well try.

  5. Scott..That Should Hone Up Fine..Its Not the Hardest of Steel..I have Honed a Few Like that..Some Being Dropped or Someone Accidently Clipping the Blade on a Grinder..Just a Pain in the Butt is All as it Takes a Wee Bit of Time..Or a Big Bit of Time..:happy097:

  6. The work is completed. It was a pain. A lot of metal to take off. It is now a 13/16th inch blade. As for the metal being soft, @Billyfergie , I wish. This was some very hard Sheffield steel. Most W&B aren't that hard, but this one took a fair amount of time. I polished the steel and the scales up, after smoothing out the chipped blade, and honed "Snaggle Tooth" up. I will give it a shave in a while. I restored three other blades, along with this one today too.

  7. Wow! It looks like a different razor. You did some great work!
  8. nice job...........
  9. Thanks, I was a little disappointed with the scales. I should have taken a little longer on them, but they took way to much time, as is. I might touch them up a little, later.
  10. I think you are right, on the previous owner using a grinder, or buffing wheel, and having an accident. The previous owner apparently polished it so much, that the Wade & Butcher inscriptions on the tang were almost gone. I could barely make it out, but under magnification, it was clear.
