I was under the impression that Twin blades were OK in type H or later, except for Hydromagics. No problems getting the twins to install?
SOTD 10.20.2017 Pre-shave: Black coffee & a hot shower Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin travel size can http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/ Brush: Omega Hi-Brush, synthetic (not pictured) Razor: 1970 Gillette Adjustable black beauty Blade: Derby Extra (1) Post-Shave: Thayer's WH, Nivea Sensitive Balm, Jovan AS / Cologne At the last minute, I opted to put a dollop of the shave cream directly on a shave brush and paint it on my face. It worked well, and kept my hands clean for the duration of the shave. With the razor setting on #3 the new Derby blade performed exceptionally well and I ended with a close, comfortable shave. Have a great day everyone as you prepare for the weekend!
Gebr. Lang were a well known purveyor of straight razors in the 1920s, but I've been no more successful in placing this razor in the company's catalog than the poster who (foolishly) sold it to me. The head may be generic German Old Type (?) but the handle is beautifully inlaid with some kind of ceramic mosaic. It shaves great, with a Nacet in its third shave i managed my head shave in just 1+ pass. It's quite toothy, and if I were to guess I'd say it has a bit greater exposure than the Gillette. Even so, buffing ATG in the moustache area was easily accomplished. I won't be selling this razor .
Oct. 20,2017 Friday Razor: Personna Flexhead Blade(s): Gillette TwinJector (3) Pre Shave: Homemade Lather: Proraso Green Brush: VDH Badger AS: Brut Splash On This Morning`s shave is a duplicate of yesterday `s, a 2 pass, WTG/ATG with a small amount of clean up in between passes. Smooth, clean and close. I think my meds are beginning to work again, so I might try the tomorrow (depends). Hope everyone was as successful as I was this morn. God Bless to all and happy shaving. Happy camper here. Bill

The Wilkinson Sword razor has become the razor I reach for the most. For such a cheap razor it sure shaves great, a bit on the mild side which can be a good thing. The only downside is that it is plastic but the handle has that metal insert that balances it out. You may have to experiment with which blade works best for this razor, I have noticed that blades perform differently in each razor.
YESTERDAY'S SHAVE Prep: Musgo Real Oakmoss Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Gillette Rubie Brush: Maggard 30mm synthetic Soap: Soap Smooth Moss Mile Post: Local Gent Fields & Streams balm, peach Thayer's WH Had a fairly decent shave, did get some irritation and a few nicks. The Moss Mile smells great and has a grassy earthy scent. Whipped up a nice lather in the copper bowl. I really like the black and white knot in this Maggard brush, this one is a 30mm which is a bit big and would be perfect for head shavers. Finished the shave off with some Fields & Streams balm, local Gent makes one of the best balms I have tried, it's very thick and moisturizing. Plus that coffee sage scent is just awesome. TODAY'S SHAVE Prep: pre shave soap mix Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Gillette Rubie Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft Soap: Steambath Factory Bloodbath Post: Reef Point Dragons Blood Balm Nice invigorating shave this morning. The Bloodbath soap smells like coffee and pumpkin, a great scent for this time of year. The lather was more dense than I remember, hardly any bubbles which is a good thing. Was surprised how slick the lather was and how much water it held. Got a nice clean shave with no drama, finished off with Reef Point balm. Hope everyone had a great shave!
October 19, 2017 Brush: Omega Synthetic Soap: Proraso Green (Cream) Razor: Merkur Progress (+2.5) Blade: Astra (1) A/S: Pinuad Clubman It was a DFS Shave with the Astra blade but not as smooth and close a shave as I routinely attain with a Gillette blade, particularly with the Silver Blue. It seems the blade is an important factor in even an adjustable razor. YMMV.
Great #SOTD The RazoRock Mamba works great for me. Used a Polsilver SI blade. B&M Spice is AMAZING. I love the RazoRock Beehive brush, the look, weight and knot all come together well.
Franken Tech Razor Voskhod Blade Frank Shaving Badger Brush Love My Skin Spearmint Soap Dickinson's Witch Hazel Lucky Tiger Aspen After Shave I put this razor with parts to try out and it performed admirably. The top plate is from a Clix razor, which I like because of the extended ends to cover the blade. The bottom plate is from a Gillette Tech and the carbon fiber handle was sent to me by @Bookworm. It took a while to put it together because as I found some spare necks for it, I couldn't remember where my ball ends where, but I eventually found one in another parts box. I also taped together some nails to put inside the handle for extra weight, but will eventually use BB's with epoxy. In two passes with some touch up, I got a nice smooth BBS shave.

Razor: Gillette 1930's OC Ball End Blade: Personna Tungsten 74 (11) Brush: Elite Razor Gold Laced Black Onyx w/Tuxedo Soap: B&M Latha Oceana A/S: Myrsol Aqua Balsamic Still getting great 3 pass shaves with these tools. The Elite Razor handle works excellent with the APShave Tuxedo knot. I like the extra weight of the stone handle.
