Wow, you guys are hard to keep up with lately. My personal life is crazy busy right now. I still had time for a nice shave Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap Wolf Whiskers Brush Portland Razor Company Siren Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum Have a great week!
OCtober 23rd Gillette NEW LC w Polsilver (2) TGN Finest Fan Sudsy Soapery Jack Frost Thayers Barrister's Reserve Spice First time with any Supsy Soapery product this morning. Got the Jack Frost via a trade. This mentholated soap has fir needle, orange and spice listed on it and had a very unique scent in the tub. It is a very soft soap. I face-lathered a top notch lather, it really didn't take much to get this dialed in. After 3 passes, plus a fair amount of neck touchup, I am very near BBS. No evidence of the blood or irritation like last time- back to regular shaves. The scent from the soap is very unique andI don't have anything else anywhere near like it. I'll use it a few more times here and there to try to get a better handle on the scent. The menthol is not over the top and kind of sneaks up on you as you face-lather it. Finishing with the Reserve Spice is always a good idea. Have a great day all!
Great minds think alike with the CO Bigelow! Looks like a great shave; the red tip is a fantastic razor.
Thanks, Charlie. Yes, the NEW LC is one of my favourites as well. I'd like to find a NEW SC in the wild too.
Thanks Clint! Not too shabby, yourself! Nice girth on both the razor and brush handle (We're all friends here. Is it weird to comment on another guys thickness of equipment?)
October 23, 2017 Razor: English Flat Bottom New Blade: Derby Extra (2) Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Second shave with the Derby Extra and the Flat Bottom New. Two passes to another DFS, but with definite noise from the Alum. Had I the skin and beard of a young Turk, perhaps I would enjoy these examples of artisanal ironmongery more. As it is, this aged computer geek of dubious German and Irish heritage really just doesn't like them. On to something else tomorrow...
Great picture Perry. How did the band do in the competition? Love the brush. It really pops against the white background. Great lineup Charlie. Have fun with you lessons and volunteer work. Great photo and lineup Jason. I am seeing a lot of positive comments on the performance of Sudsy Soapery.
The kids did a great job! All Superior ratings (the highest award) for each category. We didn't win any of the special awards (first, second, or third place, etc) but I was relieved to have earned the all Superior level. That was a tough contest! They got to play in a college stadium at Jacksonville State - brightest stadium lights I've ever seen. Really incredible atmosphere. I'm proud of them because I know they were nervous. Hard work pays off in the end. Thanks for asking!
Fantastic results Perry. I know you are very proud of the kids. They were able to show that all the hard work produced results.
For the first time with it, I was very impressed with the lather. Thick and slick and tonnes produced for a light 20 second load. I have to spend a little more time with this particular scent to see if it grows on me, though.
Thank you, Charlie! Thanks for the insight, Jared! I was able to get a super goop lather out of some Cella this weekend. I will definitely be shooting the for unicorn lather with each of my soaps. Very nice photo, Clint. What do you do with all of your empty soap tubs ? Cool photo with a cool razor, Jim! Great shot of the E2, Perry! Awesome setup, Brian! Lovely Red Tip, Charlie!
