Paul, when I reach the bottom of a shave soap container, I'll sometimes add the remnants to a another puck of soap. I figure that's better than wasting it, and if it's just a small amount, it shouldn't affect the scent of new soap puck. Something to consider...

Ahh, intreresting Charlie, thanks. I may be able to do ONE MORE, but your idea of adding to a new one just may be the best thing.

Fantastic, Doug! Out of curiosity, how close is Floid The Genuine (Italian Version) to the Vigoroso. I've seen some say it is very similar scent-wise but just with a little less menthol, and others say it is more citrusy.

Jeeves of Hudson Street has dropped its lyrical names for its soaps in favour of plainer descriptive names. Three of their early popular ones were Private Study, Velvet Jacket and Turkish Bath. They were Jeeves' takes on a bay rum, a tobacco scent and a slightly exotic barbershop respectively. I have both Private Study and Turkish Bath and like both. (I never got Velvet Jacket because I dislike tobacco.)

If you look at the Jeeves website now, it sells Bay Rum, Tobacco Bay Leaf, and Barbershop soaps plus one called Mountain Rain. I'm not sure exactly what Mountain Rain is, but the other three are the old Private Study, Velvet Jacket and Turkish Bath under their new scent descriptive names.

The Jeeves version of Bay Rum is a bit different because it has bay leaf and rum mixed in with the scent of oranges. I find it a very pleasant scent, and the soap performance is topnotch.

I can't take credit for that one. It's actually from a vendor's description of Derby Extra blades and the company that makes them.

I got my new participant for OCtober, a 1936 Aristocrat De Luxe. My first shave will be tomorrow, and I have to admit, I am looking forward to it.
