  2. Engstrom frameback. A really nice piece of Swedish Hardware. Shaves similar to a wedge. The blade is somewhat stiff, especially compared to a full hollow ground blade. Don’t get me wrong; I really enjoy this razor, however I do prefer the thin hollow grinds more.

  3. Your comments are interesting. I have an Engstrom and love it, but it does shave differently than a hollow ground. I never really thought about it, but I think you're right. The Engstrom does shave more like a wedge. No doubt that's due to the stiff blade.

I don’t know of any Russkie creams or aftershaves - any you’d recommend? :signs002:
  6. Russian beauty creams work wonders. [IMG]
  7. Tet-a-Tet cream and balm has a wonderful barbershop scent and is uber slick and creamy with a touch of menthol.
Soapy shaving cream, smells like well, soap but proves to be an excellent shaving cream. Nothing special about it, but is quite slick.
Everest shaving cream, has a very pleasant herbal minty smell and has a generous kick of menthol to it. It’s my favorite by far, but Is not easy to find.
There are many more Belorussian and Ukrainian creams and balms at the house, they are ok, but not exceptional.

  10. Tonight's shave was with a Big Wedge. I had a silent and smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. These old Cast Steel Wedge blades are fun.

  16. Wedgeday so I broke out the vintage Greaves. Not as close as I’d like - I guess you’d call it a really good DFS. Time to refresh the blade. I did try out some Thayer’s WH on the face prior to the touch-ups. I know I’ve seen that recommended somewhere from someone. It was a nice way to go. :happy088:
