Thank you, Jim! I'm gonna try to post photos more often. I always enjoy seeing your cool SOTD photos.

Thanks, Jason! The Red Tip was a generous gift from @Douglas Carey. It is in fantastic condition, and I love using it. Because it is a small TTO razor, it packs great in a travel kit.

I finally moved past the name jokes....don't lure me back down the path. :happy108: I received word that the horse's body arrived at the glue factory.

Thanks Clint. I have not tried the CF Lime, but I'd definitely consider it for a future purchase. CF Lavender is a winner in my book. Lavender is probably my favorite of all scents, and this cream has a nice, strong scent. I've never tried a Lime scented shave cream, but it definitely sounds interesting.

Thanks Charlie. Lavender is one of my favorite scents as well. CF Creams gets a lot of top comments so it's on my try list next year.

As a loyal and now well-adjusted proletarian, I will be happy to let the Cartel deal with all the cookies while snacking contentedly myself on a puck of healthful organic and vegan soap... Did I get that right as per Ivan's instructions, Master? :)

Tuesday October 24 - Super Gooping the Fat

Delta Echo Gillette Slim on 4 / Topaz Platinum (1)
Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush
Kent / MWF in beechwood tub
    Alum and Clubman Osage Rub

This was the inaugural shave with my newly refurbished Slim. As I expected, the razor is not only beautifully refinished, it now shaves beautifully too -- slick and very very smooth. I now believe these coatings are lower friction than metal platings; certainly lower friction than worn and partially missing platings. This makes for a razor that glides effortlessly over the skin without a hint of sticking.

Once again, I tried my understanding of the super goop lather method with my finicky SOC boar brush. The only difficulty I encountered was that the wooden tub only had about 1/4" of freeboard. I loaded light and long on the puck, drizzling in water whenever the lather started looking too thick and pasty. And very shortly had lather oozing over the sides of the tub and dripping down everywhere. It was good lather though -- the stuff that loaded the brush to the base of the knot "painted" onto my face like a thick coat of very wet and slippery plaster. It stayed in place for a long time with absolutely no dissipation and provided superb protection. Once again, I spent about five to ten times longer loading the soap than I normally do and that seems to have been about the right length of time.

I finished the shave with my usual alum rub no complaints) and rinse, then ended with Osage Rub. This was the first time I had ever used Osage Rub and I just splashed a palmful on the way I normally do with Thayers Witch Hazel, Lucky Tiger or even Clubman VIBR... !!!!!! ...... *#!@ $?#! .... !!!!!

It's been 15 minutes and my face is starting to feel normal again after feeling like I had just come inside after walking through a blizzard for half an hour... Clearly I need to modify my application method for this stuff...

Ooohh... THIS was the stuff. Okay, now I finally truly understand (and sympathize with) Adam's CT of "Snowballs". Yeow! The mere thought of that is bringing tears to my eyes (admittedly some of them are of laughter...)

Another great photo, Doug. I have to ask though, did you pick your AS partly to match the Fall colours? Because it compliments the leaves beautifully.

Thanks very much. I didn't pick the aftershave to match the Fall colors. It just worked out that way. :)

Clint, congrats on the new brush. It's a beauty, and it looks like another soap destroyer!

Thank you Charlie. I saw your thread on the brushes. I will take all the brushes out for a group photo when the coast is clear. If not I am afraid, she will have me committed. :D

Neal, your soap looks like a petrified fruitcake from 1976. How's the taste? :)

I am also waiting for my wife to go to town so I can take a picture. I certainly don't want to give any more ammunition than she already has. :)

Oh man...I use the Osage in copious amounts. I think I've become somewhat less sensitized to the effects of menthol. Too much M-Bomb and too many Glacial soaps.
