OCtober 31st Gillette Old Type w Astra SP (4) Stirling Gentleman 30DC LE Thayers Pinaud Clubman Last day with the OT. Went with one of my favourite scents, and got a great Stirling lather. 3 1/2 passes later I am pretty close to smooth, but I had to chase it a bit. Finished with the Clubman and am feeling good. I enjoyed a month of OCs with 2 different Old Types and a NEW LC. Got very good shaves with the NEW and my first OT; the NEW LC is pretty close to the top of my razor list. Not sure yet what I'm going to do for NOvember. I'll probably keep some gear together a week at a time. I've got today to work it out, I guess. Have a great day all!
Thank you Charlie. The girls did have a blast. Too bad it was a short visit for Asha but better short than not at all. We are getting a snap of cold weather followed by days in the high 70s. It has been a crazy fall here.
Great picture Jim. Do you prefer the Sheraton or Aristocrat? Great picture and lineup Perry. You've really mastered the shave sticks this month. Great B&W photo Jason. The New LC might be one of the best razors Gillette ever made.
Pumpkin looks great young lady. Looks like the blade held up pretty well. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk

Another great picture recap and synopsis, Clint. I have also enjoyed your daughter's artistic pumpkins- very coo!
31 OCtober +3 Shave Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving(FS) Soap: Smolder, Blades Grim homemade shave stick Razor: Valet VC2, Autostrop Blade: Feather FAS-10 Carbon Steel(CS), Feather Seikan (11) Strop: Amish made Post-Shave: Cold Waterrinse and Wild Country After Shave, Avon, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States Decanter Photo: Today is the last day of Open Comb OCtober. I have spent the last month minus 5 shaves using my Autostrop Valet VC2 with a carbon steel blade. Today's shave was another very good 3 pass shave. You could classify it either a very high DFS or a low BBS. Stropped the blade fifteen time before and another ten after the shave. Finished the shave with some vintage Avon Wild Country AS.
What a great shave this morning. I really like the way Jason’s bowl lathers. This was fun Mama Bear Green Irish Tweed Soap TSD LE 30DC Brush RigaRazor Lucky Tiger WSP Gaelic Tweed After Shave Happy Halloween!
Thank you Jason. They both enjoyed being included in the SOTD photos. Maya helps me pick which photos to use for my SOTD posts. I take far more than needed and she is in charge of narrowing the field.
October 31, 2017 I was running a bit late this morning so I skipped shaving. Fortunately, I had had a very satisfying shave yesterday with the Thick Cap OT, so I really didn't have that much to work with anyway. And on that quiet note, another month comes to an end. For me, the first part of the month was more about getting in a shave when I felt up to it. These usually went by a route of least resistance and were Injector shaves. (Gotta love the Schick '500'.) As I got back into the swing of things, the OCs came out, including the English Three-Hole Flat-Bottom New. This led into a diversion into the strange world of the Tech, starting with the English Flat Bottom Tech. Finally, I wrapped up the month with the OT. Now to figure out next month...
Very elegant Mark. Fantastic Decanter. Looks like the bowl works great. Congrats again. @jtspartan does fantastic work.
