Humm, tempting me Jason. Thanks for the tip! I've only purchased tucks locally, or received blades as trades & PIFs. At one time I thought about getting 100 Voskhod and still might. I've also found good service with Personna Med Prep & Lab Blue, Gillette Yellows, but my blade of choice is Feather Hi-Stainless. Chris @Bama Samurai is right about blade choice meaning less as Technique improves.
Thanks for the advice, Charlie. I mentioned earlier that my next plan will be to scoop and press into a bowl. I might try it as a shave stick if that doesn't work either. Again, I'm only willing to try for the NOV week, and then that's that.
Goes hand in hand with large diameter brush knots. Is that a 24mm APShaveCo Tuxedo in your brush? I've been thinking about the 30mm, or possibly one from Maggard for the cheaper/faster CONUS shipping if the quality is the same.
I recommend driver's school for the Little 30DC man when the time comes. Learning in a safe, controlled environment is best.
It Is a 24mm, I got mine from Mac Metalworks . I'm kinda disappointed in it though. The knot I got has such a large glue bump that it gives it too much backbone. So much so in fact that I cannot get this knot to splay on my face. When lathering with it I have to bowl lather or palm lather and then paint the lather on my face.
Please post a photo of your grandson, Brian, if you don't mind. We all want to reassure ourselves that there is no resemblance between him and you.
That's great Charlie. I thought you would figure it out shortly. Simpson put up a Tweet with a Chubby 2 Synthetic in Sapphire today and listed it for sale on their website. I surprised myself with my restraint.
I appreciate the thought. Definitely not my color or style. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Clint, the day ain't over yet! That brush would look great in your den, perform oh so well, and would fill in a strategic gap in your wonderful, yet incomplete, brush collection. Life is short, Amigo! Live large!
Andrew, you need to think twice about a purchase like this. You have a wife and small son at home. OF COURSE, you need to buy his brush so that you can hand it down to him, make him proud, and give him a solid family heritage. @NCoxSTL , how's my salesmanship? Any pointers?
November 3 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Route 66 Sweeney Todd Koraat 8/8 Stirling Unscented PSB Two Girls Florida Water AS An afternoon shave today, as my wife is off for the weekend with some friends, and I here with my kids. My daughter and I have an event for her school, so I broke out a straight to get cleaned up. Two passes and BBS. I have one little weepers, but it was a smooth shave. I hope everyone has a great day!
Here I was enabling Charlie and snagged Andrew. Mark and I were texted today and we both resisted, so you guys should be safe.
