Brand new to this - at least at this level. I've been on-and-off shaving with a double edge for years but just recently have become much more interested/obsessed. That's how it goes for me; at one time it was woodworking, now I don't have the room or the tools; then it was road bikes. I owned no less than ten of them at one point and rode 100 miles/week, now I own one and I don't ride it much. Then it was guitars; I owned fifteen or so electric and acoustic guitars. Now I'm down to one acoustic and I don't play much because of arthritis in my thumbs. I've had a Merkur 34C for a long time and always just used what I found in the store: Gillette or Wilkinson Sword. I am currently using Sir Hare soap and an old Progress badger brush. I also use Nivea after-shave balm based on several reviews I've read. I'm now working my way through a selection of blades I got from Amazon and another one soon to come from Try A Blade. Due to my newest obsession, I bought a 66 Slim, a birth-year SS Flare tip (C3/1957), and I have coming a Parker 24C and all flavors of Proraso soap. I also bought but have yet to receive a Rockwell 6C. I'm looking forward to learning all I can and welcome all comments and suggestions for upgrades, etc. Casey
