Yeah, it's aluminum. I have another one like it, different style of "Gillette" stamped on the cap, but it has a date code on it, P4.
it may be a sportsman as it has the flat spots on the ends of the cap and 4 notches on the baseplate ends
I gave my youngest son my Brass General, a key of Feather Super Pro blade's, and a RazoRock Blue shaving stick. He likes the more aggressive razors, I think what he really needs as the mighty R41.
A Gillette Contract Tech- 'S' baseplate with oval slots, black cap, and black, slotted handle. It should make for an interesting shave. The basic geometry looks similar to my pre- and pos-war Techs, but the cap and baseplate are both thinner.
Tues 7th Nov. Did not expect to get one of these as they are not normally shipped to UK, but a friend brought a Few. Schick type O clone + Fitjar Cream Samples & La Toja stick he sent me.Razor looks well made. Decision to be made- Single or Twin blade ?
Last week I acquired these items at an antique store. I think this is a Schick G1. It came in a Gem Micromatic case along with a Schick injector key (appears to be another blade or two inside of it). I have a couple of Gem razors which I can use for this case. In the past, I never looked at old razor blades, but thanks to many of you I decided to pull the trigger and get these Gillette Thin Blades, and the Schick blades. There are 8 wrapped blades in the Thin Blade box. Looks like two or three blades in the Schick dispenser. I intend to use them at some point.
Also last week, I placed an order with https://www.etsy.com/shop/AndrewShaveShop?ref=hdr_shop_menu and again, thanks to many of you I ordered a Ming Shi DE razor (aka the Futur Clone). In an effort to mitigate my AD, and try to feel less guilty, I opted to order a 1964 Gillette Ladies Starburst DE. Perhaps, with some luck, I'll be able to infect my lovely wife with the wet-shaving AD virus once she receives it for Christmas. Thanks, @Linuxguile !
The good news is if she tries your new Clone and likes it, you can get another. At that price they are quite a deal! Those Lady Gillette Starbursts shave quite well, too. The long handle attached to a Flare Tip top end is Serious Business.
I scooped up this lot of Injectors, which turned out to be very odd. Check out the conversation here: Odd Injectors, Prototypes??
I won this purple haze Moe. It is shown here with my other Paladins, a lapis Falstaff and an ivory Chief.
