SOTN November 7th RazoRock Mamba GSB (3) Route 66 Cranberry Citrus Anchorset RazoRock Don Marco AS I haven't used my Route 66 soap in a while so I decided to pull it out for last nights shave. This soap is so slick that I nearly dropped my scuttle while lathering, had a hard time holding on to my brush, and found myself wiping off my hands several times during the shave just so I could hold on to my razor. Did 3 passes and since I had an ample amount of super slick lather left in my scuttle I decided to chase the baby. Happy to say that my efforts were rewarded and I successfully caught him. Absolutely no irritation and the postshave feel of R66 is second to none. My two favorite citrus scents came together with a splash of Don Marco. Have a great day my friends!
Nov. 8,2017 Wednesday Razor: RR Hawk Blade: Kai Pink Mild (3) Pre Shave: Homeade Brush: VDH Badger Lather: Proraso Green AS: Brut Splash On Newspsper Date: Feb. 2,1944 Really nice , smooth, comfortable 2 pass, WTG/ATG with a small amount of clean up. A couple shaky spots, but all in all, I`m well pleased. This combination is almost as good as the Flexhead/Twinjector. I`m interested in the mileage with this set up. Happy Camper. God Bless. Bill

Killed a few days growth in 2 and a touch up... Smooth and easy and quick and breezy! Didn't end up using after balm. Stopped at SB and feel pretty dang good.
Thanks Ken, you are correct. It had a massive horse hair knot in it when I got it. I replaced it with the 24mm Game Changer style knot that you see in the pic.

SOTD 11/8/2017 WEDNESDAY RAZOR: Drug Mart CALIBER 5 Pivot Razor (disposable) - Personna/Schick Wilkinson Sword BLADE: FIVE (*compare to Gillette Fusion 5 Blade razor) BRUSH: NO - applied by hand PREP: hot water face wash with SoftSoap, hot water rinse PRE SHAVE: None SHAVE CREAM: Gillette Fusion Proglide Sensitive - Ocean Breeze POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse AFTER SHAVE: Pinaud Clubman BALM: NONE Very quick, uneventful, 2+ pass BBS. This razor is very lightweight, makes you do the work. But in just 5 minutes of effort, success. Using fairly slow, heavy pressure strokes yields a baby smooth shave all over. I think the Dorco/Pace 6 Blade is a better razor for me. But this one provides a pretty nice result. It just feels like using a plastic toy razor not a precision tool. And yet, the simplistic experience masks the use of this effective high tech shave system with 5 blades all cutting at the same time. I really like the Gillette Gel. It definitely has a melon scent going on, and the very cooling menthol adds a great sensation. The canned shaving gel does what needs to be done to prep your face, with little fanfare or flourish. Again simple but effective. This 5+ blade Cartridge razor is uncomplicated, quick and effective, and yet removes a certain satisfaction from the shaving experience. Maybe it's just too easy this way. Enjoy your day.

SOTD 11.8.2017 Head Shave Only: Pre-shave: hot shower Shave cream + soap: Barbasol Sensitive Skin travel size can + Proraso Red http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/ Brush: Omega Boar 10049 Razor: Schick E3 Blade: Schick (2) Post-shave: Assured WH (from Dollar Tree), Nivea Sensitive PS Balm, Proraso Sandalwood AS This is Shave #22 for this travel size can of Barbasol. Today I combined it with the Proraso Red and the resulting lather was exceptional. While I've used Proraso many times, it often times dries out on me especially during my head shaves when I'm going slowly and carefully. However, today that didn't happen. The Barbasol cream has a Sandalwood scent, but the Proraso scent dominated. I managed a very close, comfortable shave and I wish the same or better for all of you.
