If you are going to be stationed in Japan, you should be able to find top notch straight razors, and hones for next to nothing. Vintage is where it's at, if you go there.

 

Serendipitous shave following @DaltonGang s post. My Okina got deployed for duty tonight. This one falls exactly between a 5/8 & 6/8.
Fairly heavy blade. Made of exceptional steel that takes a laser edge. Always a smooth and comfortable shave. Can you tell I love this one?

Tonight's shave was with a top shelf of a razor. This one is so sharp and smooth, that I only needed one pass, for a near BBS shave. I had zero issues. It was like a hot knife, through warm butter.

Both razors performed well but I still have issues with my chin..... Like trying to shave Velcro from a golf ball.

 

Stretch your skin and take very short strokes. Keep adjusting your angle every 1/8 -1/4” or so. At least it’s right out in fron so we can see what we’re doing

 

6/8 ERN with MOP and Fire Marble Scales .She shaves as well as she looks .I might not have to shave tomorrow .She shaved me that close .

The Ali's Blade is fresh off Gomuyko 20k followed by 50k and 100k diamond paste strops, very sharp and still comfortable. Four passes and a fine shave.

Traveling with a checked bag so I got to enjoy my W&B today on the road. Fantastic shave. It moved easily through the whiskers nothing-to-it like. I love the looks and it shaves extremely well - as close a shave as my best injectors and that’s saying something.

Tonight's shave was with a razor that I've used for the second time. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. This shave was even better than the first time I used it. Zero issues, just a flawless shave.
