  1. Does it say anything about our little group that we have the holidays coming up and the topic of discussion is plans for MAYhem?
  2. Yes. Yes it does.

  3. Guilty. In my defense, I also have plans for the holidays, but those don't require convincing people to do things that are against their best interests. I just need some mailing addresses.

  4. I am not sure the guys on this thread need to be convinced, it is mostly their wives and families. ;)

  5. Thanks Andrew. One side of the head says "WEBER" and the other side says "USA."

  6. John, congrats on capturing the baby and his toy box. I'm surprised you didn't steal his booties also. Poor defenseless kid. :)

Sweet set up, Jim. I'm gonna have to pick up an Old Type sometime. It just looks like a cool razor. I'm following the shave cream challenge with interest. It will be fun to see how you rank the samples.

Perry, what makes the G1 your favorite injector? It's a nice looking razor, for sure.

Brian, I'll be praying for your safe and uneventful move. Please check in as time permits. For a guy that lives on the Dark Side, I already consider you to be our 30DC Darth Tater.

Cool photo, Andrew! I'm surprised the MJ-90 with the standard base plate doesn't shave better. It will be interesting to see how it performs with the aggressive base plate.

Have safe travels, Jason. I also use a cart as my travel razor, with a shave stick and a brush. I've been pretty impressed with this as a travel set up.

Maybe a good PIF razor for a new DE shaver?

  7. Thank you, Charlie! @Vlasta keeps giggling at our assessments of the various creams, so I am really curious to see what they are. It will be interesting to see how our/my perceptions are driven by product packaging, reputation, marketing, etc.
  8. Charlie, It probably would shave better if I were willing to use a little pressure. No pressure was a hard lesson for me to learn though and a technique that I'm not willing to compromise.

  10. This is all a great set of info for me-thank you. I'd be renting an apartment to begin with. Perhaps I should PM you with an intro/summary of my thoughts at this time. You mention Grand Junction-I've been looking at communities in the Western part of the state as well, but do like the areas I've mentioned. I'll get a PM to you. :).
  11. Thanks Andrew!

  12. Agreed, Andrew. I think the habit of using no pressure is the way to go! It's a lesson that I have to relearn occasionally. :happy088:

  13. Well, I'm sorta worried about what @Vlasta included in sample H. :D

On the bright side, it should remove small wrinkles and help with irritation. :happy097:

  15. I dug out a crappy Chinese Tech clone which has a 3-pin cap. The cap fits (albeit with some need to check blade alignment) and looks shaveworthy. Interestingly, the baseplate from the clone looks like a poorly executed clone of the metal Star razor.

I also have a spare OT cap. I'll probably dig it out later and see if it fits better.

  17. Interesting thoughts on the razor, Andrew. I used my EJ 89lbl for the first time in about 10 months and got a fantastic shave on it for a week. Quite a bit better than when I was a heavy handed newbie. My EJ is quite heavy, is your Razorock as well?

  18. Couer D'Alene is directly east of Spokane. Less than 1/2 an hour. You can go directly east of Pullman (south of Spokane) and hit Moscow, Idaho. Also a University town (U of Idaho).

  19. I had never seen or bought these either. You know what I forgot about disposables? How unbelieveably light they are compared to a DE razor.
You picked up on that with the Gentleman, eh?

  20. The MJ-90 is quite light with an aluminum head and titanium handle
