That's my experience with Tabac. I've used the Shave Stick all week and only had one lather that wasn't top notch, and that was when I was silly enough to smush it into the bottom of a bowl. The scent? People who say old lady's purse aren't far off. The good news? Aftershaves have been invented...
Do you know if all of your creams are labeled the same, or did Vlasta switch them up for each user? It will be interesting to see how different shavers review/rate the same creams.
NOVember!!! November 21 - Pot luck shaves with a light Stirling focus Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Gatlinburg Brush - Jayaruh #54 Post - Alum Tuesday so that means head shave in addition to regular shave. Except it didn't last week. So, I have two weeks of head growth to take care of. That, of course, means it's Pain Stick time for the head shave. I'm happy to say it was bloodless but not without a few hiccups. Nearly sliced myself a couple of times with bad set downs but I pulled up just short of the blood each time. Whew! The main shave was absolutely delightful. The '47 SS along with the JR54 and Gatlinburg was incredibly nice. SWMBO loves the scent of this soap so it will be a keeper for sure. It is a very nice soap at that. Three full passes for another BBS and alum that was quiet (no I didn't put it on my head - I'm not into that much burn). I go back to work tomorrow for one day before Thursday's holiday. Have a great Wednesday!
Do you have different results on your neck when you switch from SE to DE? I used to have issues on my lower neck, but since switching to SE’s then straights, they have disappeared. Lately, I have been mostly hurry shaving, and have been using safety razors more often. When I use a DE, I can/will get irritation or weepers unless I use the utmost of care, and a blade on its first couple of uses. SE or Shavette? No problem.
I think they are all the same as there are similar comments for the same samples. One is very strongly reminiscent of Cella, and all who have tried it agree. I think it holds for most of the creams as well.
Charlie, I do a water/vinegar soak, then condition and comb. I “THINK” it seems to do a better job. The hairs just feel fluffier, for lack of a better word.
She’s beautiful Clint. I hear you on the empty nest thing. My wife is already going crazy. Some younger friends of ours just had a baby, and every time she goes near it she starts leaking milk.
Miss a day and half and it is hard to catch up so I will post then catch up on my reading tonight. Tuesday Shave: Just refreshed this W&B on some pasted strops, Dove red/black followed by 50k and 100k diamond. The edge was very smooth and apparently very sharp since I cut myself on the final pass. Due to the cut I lowered the irritation score to B+ even though there was no irritation but blood. It looks cool and is an aggressive shaver. The mystery cream 'I' was slick and provided allot of cushion leading to a wonderful shave. I must have been too aggressive in one spot with some redness and a weeper but other than that area the alum was quiet.
