  1. Thank you Doug. I look forward to going back to a straight tomorrow.
  2. Thanks, Andrew. I'm not sure on the soap. It was part of the Secret Santa gift. It performed a little better than the other RazoRock soap I have from 2013, but I don't know if that is due to age or formula. This is the first AdP clone I have used, and I can see why that scent has such a following.
  3. Thank you, Jim!

    Thank you, Andrew!

Nice setup and photo, Jim! Makes me want to use Arko again soon.

    Thank you, Doug!
  4. Jim - @Norcalnewb - been meaning to ask this. How is your area of Texas actually doing in Hurricane Harvey recovery? The news doesn't seem to cover any of the recovery and has moved on to other events. I heard a partial report this morning on NPR but it was more on Galveston. How is Houston?

  6. Great photo. Fitting to end the month with the Clone. Bravo.

Great photo. Have a safe trip.

Great photo Adam and a cool give from your Secret Santa.

  8. This month I shaved with three modern razors:

    1. RazoRock Mamba, I found that after 1 shave to get acquainted with this razor I was able to consistently land an irritation free BBS. This is a great razor for a beginner and experienced shaver alike and since its made of stainless steel it should be pretty much indestructible. This razor really clamps down on the blade and there is no chatter whatsoever. Very similar to the Baby Smooth in terms of head geometry, it has a relatively narrow angle window but that doesn't neuter this razor in the slightest.
    2. RazoRock MJ-90, with a handle made of titanium and head of machined aluminum this is a very lightweight razor. I found the standard plate to be too mild to be effective but the more aggressive A plate was quite efficient and in terms of blade feel was similar to a Gillette New.
    3. Merkur 34C, this was my first safety razor and was my daily driver before RAD kicked in. In comparing it to the MJ-90 I would say that it is somewhere between the standard and A plate in terms of aggressiveness. There is practically no blade feel to this razor but it is just efficient enough to bring home the baby after three passes.

  9. Nice month and great work with the Clone. I am definitely going to try another one in a few weeks just to make sure it's not a universal problem with the "wobble" as well as because it's a fun and effective razor!

  12. I've come to a similar conclusion with soaps, Adam. That's why I've binned a couple this week.

  18. The area is coming back. There are some small businesses that probably will never re-open, and I know several folks are basically bulldozing their houses and either selling the land and moving or rebuilding. We still have a family living with us, and there of lots of people displaced still. Buy, you can see progress happening and it doesnt feel desperate anymore. I figure it will be a two year process to get "fully" back.

    Have a great afternoon!

  20. Thanks for the update, Jim. I know the news has to prioritize and focus on the "breaking now" junk but so many citizens were affected by this, and still are. Prayers are with those folks.
