Not on Sundays. We have a few people in our church who are very sensitive to cologne and perfumes to the point of triggering migraines.
December 3, 2017 OneBlade Genesis Feather FHS (1) Rudy Vey R7 with Shavemac Finest MdC Fougère Myrsol Agua Balsamica As expected the RV7 and MdC produced an excellent lather with little effort. I changed out the modified Gem blade for a Feather FHS blade so that I can compare the two. I stuck with a 3 pass shave, XTG, ATG and XTG followed touch ups along my jawline and lower neck. As @Keithmax says an "Epic" shave. A splash of Agua Balsamica and I am ready for the day. My wife and I are off shortly to visit my Mom. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
I was going to keep my razor rotation going this morning, but when my Catie’s Bubbles Confiant came up for the software came up, I decided to go with the big Koraat instead. Decadent shave. Touched up the edge with my re-pasted strop because I couldn’t remember how keen the edge was. It went to lazer sharp. My favorite brush is this big boar with the 30DC LE handle. I put the razor down a little hard to start the shave. Sting and 1/2 inch cut right at the top of my cheek. It’s pretty sharp. Did a three pass shave, but struggled a little with the Lavender soap to get the right slickness. Calling it a solid DFS, but had some irritation and the slice.
That is a neat-looking razor and holder! I have never used a hot scuttle for lather, although I do now have an as-yet-unused scuttle. I will have to try that some cold December morning to up my Decadence quotient! Agree with both statements. Neal @NCoxSTL definitely went Decadent with that shave. Great photo! And kudos to Adam @Drygulch for littering the 30DC landscape with Jeeves soap samples!
With the poll running at 72% for those who just want to avoid a lump of coal in their stocking for Christmas I'm wondering if it's just because they're not picky......or genuinely worried that coal is on the list this year?

So what is the best way to load a BK12? Smear the soap or cream in a lather bowl and load from there?
So I have a message for newbies and/or idiots like myself out there. There is a reason for the opening WTG pass. I remember starting out wet shaving and lamenting how the WTG pass seemed unnecessary. I now have empirical evidence to the contrary. For some reason this morning I decided to shave before my morning shower. Although there may be some debate about how useful the hot shower is for shave prep, there is no debate that it does help wake me up and rinse away some of my morning stupid. That part of the routine skipped, I made my second bonehead move, taking my first swipe on my face ATG. (Correction; that was my third bonehead move. The second was to not pay attention to the fact that I had left a Treet blade in the Slim with no clue of how many shaves it had been there. However, I didn’t realize this mistake until I took it out and saw the rust stains inside the Slim). Anyhoo, whispering to myself “what’s the worst that can happen” I boldly move forward with the full, unprepped, ATG first pass. The first indicator the this plan was foolhardy was when my wife came into the bathroom shrieking “What did you do?!” I calmly responded that I was trying something new, and that the blood will wash right off my face. She responded “Don’t try this again, please”. After a quick XTG pass, I had an “unusually invigorating” round with the alum before proceeding to the shower to wash the blood off and chalk this up to a learning experience. At the point of applying my AS (alcohol prevents the onset of tetanus, right?) I realized this morning’s shave debacle wasn’t over yet, as my face lit up hotter than the Griswold’s family Christmas tree. Now off to Church looking like I wrestled down a bobcat - that’ll be my story if anyone asks, by the way. On a more positive note Mohammed, the proprietor at Grooming Department (one of my new favorite soaps) said the goal of his soap was to provide enough slickness and cushion to do a one pass ATG shave without fear. Since I now have a “reference shave” under my belt, I may try it out once my face heals...
We did, thank you. She plays the flute for the symphony. She can play most brass and woodwind well enough to teach them, too.
Entertaining report! Hope your face calms down quickly! Jason, that's terrific! I am a band director so I know the level of dedication and talent it takes to be a performer at that level.
The whole setup looks luxe - especially the Koraat! I can only imagine what my face would look like if I were to attempt a shave with it. The brush is no slouch either!
