  2. Oh boy. Very nice. The Fatboy, Slim, and BB are great set of triplets. I like the DE Ink color scheme, too. Excellent choice. So, they actually covered over the plastic handle on the BB or left it "stock". Early on (my 2nd re-plate), I learned the hard way that traditional plating materials (Rhodium, Nickel, Gold, etc.) does not work well with the BB handle. A man would be wise to limit himself to those 3 razors and be happy....if possible. :)

  3. Razor: Timeless Smooth Cap w/ iKon Bamboo
    Blade: Feather Platinum Coated (6)
Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White
    Soap: Reef Point Soap Tranquility
A/S: Reef Point Soap Command Presence Balm
    Bowl: Timeless

Good shave tonight with less of a dry feeling on my face. Could have left the soap on a little to long yesterday. This time of year it is much drier in the house than usual. The iKon Bamboo handle is a great little handle IMO. Great balance in a good size.

  4. They covered it over. The baked-on gun coatings stick to the aluminum just fine where traditional platings don't. I believe Gillette either painted or enamelled them originally.
  5. Makes sense. Which razor do you prefer, can you tell a difference?

  6. Another great photo. Isn't it kind of tough shaving while parked up in the crotch of a tree branch though?

  7. Thank you very much!
  8. Another excellent shot Doug!
  9. I think I prefer the Black Beauty by a hair. I find its slightly slimmer head profile easier around my nose and I like the handle length. It's a toss up between the other two - a tiny bit more weight versus a shade more nimbleness. Actually I like all three but they are just a bit different.

  10. Your are correct John. It is difficult to shave while parked up in the crouch of a tree shaving with one hand and taking a picture with the other. I have to be careful, and keep an eye out for @Drygulch. His camouflage is getting much better. :)

  12. You did a great job noting the subtle differences. I lean toward the heavy end of the razors, they shave smoother for me. That is a curse because with Gillette adjustables the heavier they get, the more they cost! Exponentially more $$/gram...that graph looks like an Evil Knievel ramp!

  13. Thank you Clint. We have had good weather for about a week now. The is a cold front headed our way out of the Arctic next week.
  14. I’ve seen him do it though.

  15. The local news is playing up the possibility of frozen precipitation here on Friday. I’m sure the grocery well sell out of milk and bread. If it comes at all we will get 1 snowflake ❄️

  16. I was absolutely floored just now when I collected my mail and found some shaving soap in it -- and I hadn't ordered any. It was a generous-sized sample of Jeeves of Hudson Street courtesy of @Drygulch! And I didn't even know Adam had my address! Not only that, the clever Enabler sent me their newish Key Lime, which I haven't had a chance to try until now!

It smells absolutely delicious. I am trying to be a good little guinea pig and stay on track to the end of the Mystery Cream Challenge, but this isn't making that easy. I think I will finish the last seven cream samples, and then I will break this out... And since it is not in a tub, I will use it to break in my scuttle, which will let me lather it up with the Soap Aircraft Carrier aka Kent BK12. I foresee a truly epic shave next week.

    Thanks, Adam!

  20. As long as I stay away from the grocery stores, Friday will be the only day this week with no traffic. :happy097:
