  3. Beautiful B&W shot! Congrats on the new razor!
  4. Thank you, Bruce! If you like Bay Rum, I would recommend this one.
  5. I had left the shark mask in the back of the van from Halloween. I just about died laughing when I looked back there. Guess you had to be there. But it was surreal. Dark, rainy night. Children. Silence. Sharks.

  6. Thank you, Jared.

That is pretty much every conference call I have ever been on. I have also played everyone of those parts!
She and my other kids had a great time. My wife sent me a video of her making snow angels, just enjoying life.
    Thank you, Bruce!
  7. Ah! That turns it from just being cute to being cute AND funny! Things kids do.... :)
  8. She's my pistol, for sure.

  10. Friday

    Prep: Hot shower
Coffee: Wegmans Traditional Medium roast, black
    Tune: Pandora Shuffle
    Soap: RazoRock Sandalwood
    Brush: Blue
    Razor: Merkur 11C
    Blade: Super-Max Blue Pro, day 5, 3 passes - glad it's done
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickensons WH
    Stink-Pretty: Curve
Moustache Maintenance: Argan oil conditioner, Dirigo Blue 'Stache Wax, toss blade

My Pappy (actually I called him Dad) always said, "The proof is in the puddin'", (actually he never said that).
I'm referring to telling how well the shave went by how the rinse feels. Today - I could feel the burn caused by a not-so-hot blade as I rinsed with the cold water. Not a fan of this blade.

    Razor: Bakelite Clix
    Blade: German Wilkie (2)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Soap: Cella
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

The Clix and Wilkie were such a great combo yesterday that I decided to go with them again today. To amp up the decadence a bit, I pulled out the Cella. Except for some overhydration of the lather from a too-wet brush, everything went very well. A BBS or near enough with no issues or irritation,
  12. Great post and explanation of issues there. I haven't paid too much attention to the OneBlade other than seeing it on here. One of the unique things that happens in the shaving world is the passionate opinions people tend to display over certain products, when the reality is there is probably room for all of them. As a vintage and technique guy I bore easily with modern stuff that makes it too easy. However, even I can succumb to the desire for a quick shave without thinking from time to time. Am I willing to pay the price that OneBlade charges? Nope. But that's ok, nobody is holding a gun to my head saying I have to. I've made it quite obvious how much I like Gillette Adjustables and even covet the Toggle, but the prices it sells for has me in non-buying mode even for a "grail" razor. Now, should I decide I can spend the money on one and decide to, then so be it. Same goes for any price people are paying. The value of a certain razor may well be greater than the price asked - and that's what you call a sale!

As for the proprietary blade, well, we can always blame King for that. After all, Gillette invented the idea of patenting a razor/blade combination and riding it to the end of the patent before inventing something else proprietary to keep the price up. That's how we have 6 blade cartridge monstrosities on rotating ball heads with a vibrator in the handle for pete's sake.

By the way - the OneBlade is one nice looking piece of hardware. It may never land in my den but I'm glad I get to see pictures of it in others.
  13. There has never been a conference call yet that anyone "needed" to be on. The modern version of the time wasting meeting.
  14. @clint64 - A friend who lives in Atlanta posted a screenshot of a traffic report. Everything looked red! How is it going over there?

Jeeves Of Hudson Street "Bay Rum"(Thanks again Adam @Drygulch )
Yaqi Professional 28mm Tuxedo Style (Destroyer Class)

Last night brought another decadent shave with two new products. The first of which is one of my two new Yaqi brushes. This is a 28mm tuxedo style knot. It seems to be set somewhat deep and boy oh boy is it dense with a whole lot of backbone, almost to the level of my Simpsons CH2. It had no problem with digging in to the Jeeves Bay Rum and creating an awesomely creamy super goop lather out of it! This Jeeves is the real deal and as soon as the razor touched my face I knew it would be right up there in the top of the pack! The lather was super creamy and super slick, great scent and great scent strength! Three passes brought home the baby and I finished off with a splash of AV Ice Sport. I hope you all have a great weekend!

And now for a very special TGIF family shot in front of the Christmas Tree!
