SOTD December 10, 2017 Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Kai Captain Mild Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Fine American Blend Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave WTG, XTG Really nice shave this morning. The American Blend scent is one of my favorites that I use, perhaps my favorite. Not sure why I don't use the soap more often, but I have a lot of others to get to! Voluminous, slick and shiny lather from bowl lathering with my new bowl. I face lather almost exclusively but used the bowl today because I had some more time. Great lather. Today is our son's 3rd birthday! We're going to a rib joint in a little while with family and friends. He loves what he calls "bone meat" and eats ribs with reckless abandon. That was easier and more fun that trying to have a party at our house. I'll try to post a picture of him later on. Have a great day!
Thank you Clint. I haven't had the pleasure to use either an R41 or any Ikon DE's. I would say it's as hazardous as a wide open Fat Boy. I know the feeling. So many razors, only one face. With the holidays, kids, etc there's always important ways to spend the funds. Gotta put Hobby at the end of the budget. The good news is that they've been available for a while and have reached the secondary market.
You gotta admit, it would be funny. No explanation, no fanfare, and no denials, just a nutcracker stuffed full of soap and left by the bowl. Okay, I have an odd perspective about what’s funny.
The AS scent is stronger than the soap. I think all of the Stirling sets I have are. Agar has a woodsy scent that I really like. It's more of a fall scent, to me, but I think I'd leave it out for year round use. I also have the balm which works well. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Happy Third Birthday to your son, Perry! I hope you all have a great time (how could you have a bad time at a rib joint?), and I look forward to the photos. Be sure to souse them ribs in plenty of sauce.
Please let me interpret in 30DC speak. ...if Jim would mess with his Bride by filling one of her prized Nutcrackers with shave soap and putting it back on the shelf. When she found out, he would take the bullet for it and then tell us about it. Better yet, he could get a photo of his Bride's expression or wait, how about a video? Then we could all laugh make fun...at a safe distance. Great suggestion, Prancer! Meanwhile at everyone's home... Wifey, "Dear, what are you laughing about?" You, looking up from your phone, "Oh, nothing, sweetie pie. I can't believe this guy on the shaving forum.... You know I would never treat you that way, dear. By the way, honey, you look terrific in that muumuu you picked up at Lane Bryant..." ...
I am fairly certain that your interpretation of "funny" is exactly right. The comedy would start once I posted her reaction, assuming I had functional fingers after. I am not sure Siri knows how to make posts on here.
Actually, I love it. We could have a contest to see who could get the best, “You’re an idiot” photo of their wife in 2018. Winner unseats @Drygulch and his lovely bride for their now famous “Stupidity over Margaritas - 2017”
Sometimes the 30DC reminds me of... That's @NCoxSTL in the back on the right after shaving with the Toggle on 0.5.
