I made SP-5 while in Vietnam and returned to the states to finish my service at Fort Benning, GA. I was attached to the 2nd Evacuation Hospital and later the 35th Surgical Hospital, both warehoused units. I worked in the OR at Martin Army Hospital during that time. I am proud to have served my country during those difficult Vietnam conflict years.

    Branch: U.S. Army
MOS: 12B (Combat Engineer) I was drafted in 1969, went in as a Private E1. After AIT I went to Infantry Officer Candidate School at Ft Benning, Ga. Commissioned a 2nd Lt (April Fools Day 1971) followed by "Jump School". Attended the "Q Course" (Green Beret) at Ft Bragg, NC. Later in my career I got into procurement and stationed at the Pentagon four different times.
    Rank: Colonel
    Dates: 1969 - 1999.

Although drafted during the height of Vietnam - by the time I got done with all my training - Vietnam was shutting down fast so I never made it there. Served with the 5th Special Forces Group and went just about everywhere else.

The military isn't for everyone, and everyone isn't for the military.
Ain't a thing wrong with that.
