Day 5 of the ‘Crat Jr, 2nd with a Feather. Routine 3 pass shave again earlier this morning. I’d call this a DFS. This is such a smooth shaver.
We had almost zero snow until yesterday, and then got 14 inches over the last 24 hours. Life in the Rockies. Fun times this morning.
    Have a great day all!

  8. Great photo, Jason! What size knot is in that brush?

  9. Thanks, Andrew. It is a 24mm knot, set at 15mm depth. I found it too floppy set shallower.

  10. Very informative write-up, Neal, and a nice pic as well.
It is always nice when a new razor works out, Keith. Great combo as usual!
Nice pic, good write up and excellent advice, John.
You certainly have kept your focus this month, Charlie! As well, Astra SPs seem to often get overlooked (probably because of how cheap they are), but I don't think I have any blades that are consistently better than they are.
Another beauty, Clint. Out of curiosity, if a person were to get one MdC soap, which scent would you recommend?
More toggles? They are multiplying like 195's around here!
    Safe travels today, Jim.

The snow sounds like a good excuse for a little bit of skiing!

  13. No, really....Thank YOU!! :)
  14. Moi? I put up one pic of a fully-clothed angry elderly lady who was mad that her purse smell had been commandeered by Tabac, and somehow it morphed into semi-sexualized comments about large ladies in spandex. I'm pleading the fifth on this one.
In related news, Chris @Bama Samurai is madly searching for a pic of Bryan Adams in the same leopard print workout garb as we speak...

  19. Thanks Bruce. 14in of fine powder will make for a great day on the hill. Alas, I won't be there until the weekend.

  20. Thank you Jason. Scents are always so personal that it is a hard question to answer. First unless you are lucky in timing and they have their two LE scents available ( Vetyver or Agrumes) you will only have a choice of the two regular scents or unscented. I will preface my comments with the observations that the scents are present throughout the shave but do not linger so scent choice is not as big a deal as it could be. The Original scent has a strong laveder rosemary notes over a medicinal type background scent. I would say it is polarizing and you will either love it or hate it. I love the scent but that is just me. My buddy Wade despises the scent. The Fougere is a subtle fern/green scent. It has some of the same background notes but not to the same extent. I find the Fougere goes with almost any aftershave and is just a joy to use. I would say it more approachable than the Original scent.

I hope this helps some. Maybe Mark @Boojum1 chimes in since he has all 4 scents and likely has a different prospective.
