For today's shave, I took a break from the samples and went with a luxurious peppermint cream. Its scent reminds me of the candy canes that Santa Claus gave out when you visited him in the department stores when I was a kid -- back when Simpson Sears, Eaton's and The Bay were still large, well-established, well-stocked and well-run department stores.
To match the Simpsons cream, I naturally went with the Simpsons synthetic brush. A dip in the cream with the damp brush, a bit of water trickled on as I face lathered, and I had three passes of creamy goodness with lots of lather still in the brush for extras if desired.
The Voskhod on its fourth outing was still smooth and sharp; the Slim was reliable as usual and added a touch of holiday colour in its festive Delta Echo Ink coating of matte black with bright red highlights.
Since this is also Menthol Monday, I finished with a splash of Osage Rub to bring the Winter Wonderland (aka blizzard and numbing windchill) indoors.
I have spent much of Christmas Eve and Christmas visiting with my sister's family here in town. We decided to watch that great classic Christmas movie, The Lord of the Rings (Director's Cut). It takes awhile. We interspersed it with holiday episodes of Murdoch Mysteries. Nothing says "Christmas" like orcs, ringwraiths and 19th century murders...
