  5. I have to admit this setup of my beloved Mark Cross and a Schick Proline yields an even more enjoyable shave than my DE go-to, the Shake Sharp, easy two pass BBS head and face shave and especially superior on the chin where most set-ups cause me difficulty. The only issue is repeatability, as there's no easy way of getting blade gap just right without fiddling. This is right and man is it sweet.[IMG]

  6. Today's shave was with a USA made razor. I had a very smooth and comfortable 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. This is one of my "Top Shelf Razors". A real joy to use.

Razor- Shapleigh HDW Co. St Louis.
    Brush- Omega Boar
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

  11. Ever-Ready 1914 (Little Lather Catcher) Razor
    Treet Super Carbon Blade
    West German Boar Brush
    Tabac Shave Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Tabac After Shave

After getting this razor yesterday, I knew I'd have to try it out today, especially since not shaving for a couple of days. I did most of the shave riding the cap, except in those areas which work better off the cap. Usually around the goatee and side burn areas for clean lines. This shaved just as good as my favorite SE, the Gem G-bar, but maybe a bit smoother. The only thing, for me anyway, is the need for a fatter handle as it tended to shift around some and having to re-grip it. So after two passes with a little touch up, I got a very nice and smooth BBS shave.

  13. Man oh man is that soap ever cold. But it feels so good on the skin. The balm feels just as delightful and the witch hazel is a frozen treat!
  14. Great looking shave Jim.

  16. I've also thought of shortening my J type razor. Sort of like a short Lady Eversharp, which always go for a good buck.

  18. My Dad's Wednesday shave done by me!

    Two hot towels
    Omega 49
    Ming Shi TTO/Astra day 5
    Gada Original SC
    Tabac AS Splash

What a badass-looking guy my Dad is and did he ever enjoy this shave. Two passes got him as smooth as silk. He winced a bit when I slapped on the Tabac but then he said "Ahhhhhhhhhh, that feels good!"
