Doug, this is my #2 favorite. I have another the same diameter, slightly deeper, with sides that are closer to vertical in a white ceramic finish. It holds and contains lather just a little better. My first dish was smaller and didn't have the symmetrical pattern of the two I use now. The textured bottoms are good for smearing in a soap sample. I wet my brushes in them prior to making lather, dump the water out of the bowl and the remaining dampness is nearly enough to hydrate most every time. The textured unglazed ceramic also seems to help incorporating air into the soap/water mix. Both my current suribachi I received in a trade with John @Sparrow. These are the real deal from Osaka, Japan. Dan, good looking #195! I've tried half a dozen different Fat Boys - the E-4 have shaved the best in side by side comparisons. Slap a Feather in it and crank it up to setting Neal!

Sorry, you've seen the picture already, but I'll put it up again. Two passes, touch up, BBS, smooth, fantastic lather, great feel, quiet alum. What more needs to be said?!
Wednesday shave with homemade williams shavestick. The brush is a Vie-Long horse and the razor is a open comb GEM Damaskeene. Wonderful shave.
Still traveling and have had a few more shaves with the C3/Swedish Stainless blades. Absolutely top notch shave. Sticking with the two pass XTG/ATG combo. Same shave quality as my traditional three pass but quicker and weepers are rare. Happy shaving - Karl

But, the star of the show was the Pitralon, it leaves the skin feeling as good as Floid or Cella and has a great citrussy, herby, piney smell*. What more can you ask for? *Now you can see why I normally don't describe scents
SOTD 20171228. Cadman / finest. Arko Men "Fresh". Supply Single Edge V1.0 ("Aggressive" shave setting). Schick Chromium (1). Cien X-Bolt. This was not a good shave - stubble still there. Redid it with the Schick type I1 injector with a Schick Chromium (6) blade.
