  6. Beautiful picture, Mark!
  7. I got the Synthetic, I find I really enjoy synthetic knots. I may have to invest in a quality Badger at some point to see, but synthetics seem to be the best combination of backbone and softness to me.

Rereading that post, I realize I should not make type while fighting a two year old from my phone. Lots of typos. :)

    MWF
    Gillette Toggle
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Clubman Special Reserve AS

I got myself out of bed early and made it to the gym this morning, so I got a nice morning shower and shave for this first time since I have been off. My son joined me (and later my 8 month old, 75 lb lab puppy) so we had a nice shave together. I showed him what some nice lather from MWF looks like, and he managed to get his VDH soap worked into a decent lather. I got two passes in while avoiding the dog, and ended with a BBS after just a bit of clean up. Very nice shave. We ordered a couple of bunk beds for the my two middle kids rooms, so I will be putting those together today. I hope everyone has a great day!

  18. Thank you, Andrew! I am going to try to get my son to help put the beds together. Sometimes, that adds to the aggravation. It will definitely be an exercise in patience.

  19. DEcember 28th
    British Aristocrat Jr w Polsilver
    30 DC LE
    TOBS Jermyn St SS
    Thayers
    Booster Polar Ice

Sorry, no pic today. Feeling a little more functional and had my first shave since Christmas Eve. Actually stayed on focus with the ‘Crat jr and samples. The Jermyn St is a keeper, but sadly, that is the end of this sample. I’ll buy some in the future.
I’d never gone 4 days (or more than two, actually) without shaving since my DE conversion. The first pass was quite tuggy, which never happens with a Polsilver. Must have been because of the hair length. The next two passes felt very normal, had a bit of touch up, and am very smooth. Finished with the Booster just because. Being clean shaven for the first time in 4 days I am engaging in some serious faceterbation.
I’m about to have my first cup of coffee in 3 days. Good times.
    Have a great day all!

  20. A year ago or so I would have puffed out my chest and harumphed that natural brushes were clearly the winner in the brush wars. Then I won the Jayaruh #46 with Maggard synthetic in a raffle. Well, if you follow my shaves, you know what brushes dominate my den now. I still have all of my boars and, of course, my Wolf Whiskers with high end silvertip badger knot. But the four synthetics are my daily rotation brushes. The feel of the synthetic knots as well as the way they produce such thick lathers with less effort required really make them stand out.
