Today's shave was with a a somewhat newish razor of mine. I've only used it once or twice before. I had a buttery smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. I did about 8 strokes on the leather, between passes, and that made the ATG pass like it wasn't even there. Razor- Wade & Butcher Barbers Notch. Tonight’s shave was with a new to me razor. Took it for a test run before going to the stones to see what it needed, since it seemed fairly sharp already. Had a decent two passes. Saturday Straights' Shave Proraso Pre Shave Arko Frank Shaving Badger Fredrick Reynolds 9/16 "Rattler" CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Lucky Tiger I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Arko Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Frank Shaving Badger brush. I did two passes with the Fredrick Reynolds 9/16 and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I got this razor from @HolyRollah . It is very cool looking, and it is a very smooth shaver. Thanks Kevin. I really like it.
Lovely Razor..I Like My Otto Busch World Master 6/8th..Probably More the Size of a 15/16th in Reality..They are Big Blades for a So Called 6/8th.. Billy..
I took out my Engstrom frameback this morning and got a great two pass shave. That’s Williams in the mug and it provided a great lather.
Razor: Wade & Butcher Brush: Vie-Long horse hair 2012 collaboration with Bullgoose Soap: Fine Platinum A/S: Fine Platinum A nice wedge that underwent scale surgery, and was able to retain the original washers... Enjoy your shave! Tom
Thank you. I think these were from a razor blank from Maggards. The reason I say probably is I found them under a book. I guess I was straightening them and forgot... I need to read more.
I cheated on my Straight razors today, with an oldie of a Single Edge razor. I had a so-so 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. After shaving with Straight Razors for so long, This felt rough, and hard to find a comfortable angle. Its a pleasure to look at, but might take some time for me to dial in a comfortable shave with it. The handle was special made by our very own, JR( @Jayaruh ) It's a larger, more comfortable copy of some of the original handles. Razor- "Star Kampfe New York" K code, Duel Star. Blade- Gem Soap- Proraso Red(Sandalwood) Brush- B400 By Tom( @twhite ) Aftershave- Proraso Red(Sandalwood) Shave Bowl- By Me. With raised bumps inside.
