Just like half the people this time of year I have started going to the gym to try and get healthier and loss a little weight. It also helps that there are a couple of us at work that have a monetary wager on the weight loss. I'm going the gym before work in the morning. The draw back then is that I get to shave in the poorly lit locker room sink. This morning I was able to get a three pass DFS out of less than optimal settings.
  8. That is a gorgeous razor , Ken!

  13. Thanks guys.

Yes unfortunately I pretty much am done making anything else. The new owners very much frown on using equipment for any personal use.

It was a blast while it lasted

Am enjoying a run with AC/SE Razors, which seem to suit my " need every day Shave tough beard". Have noticed that perhaps with the Kai blade the finish is not as close as with other blades, but it lends itself to having a comfortable relaxed Shave. I find it very easy to use the combo to deal with stubborn areas of growth, without the risk of irritation.

  16. Is there really such a thing as to many?

You are DA man!! I have that Omega knot on a jayaruh handle. Great brush. I actually picked up another G3 that is on the way. It has the bakelite handle like that. I still say that is my favorite 1912.
  17. This was my Wednesday shave. I was super excited that the razor head and Jayaruh handle showed up at the same time. It is a 1898ish Kampfe/Star wedge. Just so happens I had a wedge blade that I was able to use good enough to get a shave from it. This is now my oldest razor and is a wedge only. Time to learn to hone a blade!#

Strange occurrence this morning. I used a new blade (seen in the photo) from tryablade. I've used stainless blades for a long time with no problems. Lather up, pop the blade in and start shaving. Ouch. Ouch more. Tuggy and rough. Really uncomfortable. So I get out a second blade from the tryablade package. Same problem. Tuggy and rough. So I chuck it for a THIRD blade but I got this one from the black GEM magazine. Ahhhhh.....smooth and buttery as it should be. So odd to have two blades in a row that were duds. Nice shave in the end but it sure started on a poor path.

    Have a great day!
