Alas, had to cancel flight to Tampa as I have furnace problems. I have heat. Too much heat. Furnace will not shut off at pre-set temp. Service companies only responding to folks with no heat as we're in a real cold snap here. Have to shut it off at the circuit breaker. Oh well...........

    Last Night's Shave....

AWESOME Shave! The LADY EVERSHARP (schick type k2) is just amazing with the PROLINE B20 blade. This was the second shave and the blade is Sharp as hell but still smooth.

The Semogue Boar (forget the name of this one - i have so many) is turning into a favorite - seems to have same knot as the 820 - so its very soft and a little floppy, so its PERFECT for Creams or Modern Artisan Soaps - these soaps really do not need back bone as there dummy proof for lathering..

    peace jamie

As a reminder, this MWF has been infused with Captain Black Tobacco and Madagascar Vanilla Bean.
Worth the slight effort and 90 day incubation time.

    Have a great day!
  13. Thanks Andrew! I'm getting about three weeks worth face and head. Have a great weekend buddy ☺️
  14. SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180105_094454.jpg

    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Maggard Slant
    Blade: Super-max Platinum
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Soap: Gustafsons Blue Bayou
Post: Peach Thayer's WH, Stirling Ben Franklin A/S

Had a wonderful shave this morning. This soap makes a really creamy lather with no bubbles, almost like a cream. Scent is lavender and cedarwood, they come together to make a nice mix. The Maggard Slant helped to provide a BBS shave with no irritation. Finished off with Stirling Ben Franklin. Hope everyone had a great shave!
  15. Thank you for your kind words, Andrew. :)

Great shave this morning with the monobilt.

  17. A very leisurely shave with two Coopers. The three piece being hollow handled is considerably lighter and you can see head geometry is not identical. In shaving the feel is quite different, the Monobilt feels milder and much more sensitive to angle. In terms of results, they're close enough, personally I prefer shaving with the three piece as it allows me to be lazier about angle and delivers great results. I use tungsten putty in the three piece to give it a little more heft. Fresh Nacet in both. [IMG][IMG]

I thought I'd try a slightly longer handle on the ER, but being hollow it's also 17g lighter. The 1912 took the change in it's stride and did what it always does - removed the whiskers smoothly.
It's the first time I've tried a faena soap and considering it's got tallow and lanolin it's just above average imo. Although, trying to follow yesterdays Tabac may have impaired my judgement.
Also, all faena products have an underlying scent, not unpleasant, just a bit disconcerting, which I can't put my finger on. The wonderful smell of Pitralon soon rectified this.
All in all, a pretty good end to not a great week.
