I recently purchased a vintage brush and need some addition info on it. There is no makers mark and only has a partial sticker. From what the seller told me, his father bought it in Germany in the 60's, and that pans out due to one word I can make out is Dachshaar which translates from german to badger hair.

Here are a couple pis ...

Let me know if you have any ideas. I looks like a tulip Simpson, but it's not, unless Simpson made it for another retailer.

    Thank you for your help.

All my stumbling and bumbling through the web; the most I could find is that it was not uncommon for Simpson to produce brushes for other retailers from the mid 40's to the 60's and maybe beyond. So until I hear otherwise, I'll consider it my fist Simpson and will need to put in a nice badger in it.

I welcome all suggestions on source of said badger knot and really would like to possibly put on a vintage style Simpson decal.

What can I say the brush is growing on me.

Unfortunately I think it's between 19 to 22mm; I'll know when I remove the knot.

Interesting puzzle. I'm thinking maybe an early MÜHLE. Here are some of their stickers.

I thought about Muhle as well, but couldn't find a sicker silhouette that matched the one on mine. Also none of the Muhle look as much as a tulip as much as Simpson's tulip.

I found the history on both Simpson and Muhle is very interesting.

Either one is a winner in my book. It will be great to find a matching sticker though. I'm sure it will turn up.

Hi, I have spent the last half an hour perusing the web images of vintage shaving brushes, and I didn't have much luck.

Possibly a Rooney, but I couldn't get any images of any Rooney stickers.
Sorry I didn't do better. Good luck, and good morning!

Thank you for all your efforts. I agree that it is probably a Simpson Tulip; now if I can get a vintage Simpson decal for it after restoring it. :D
