Sunday's SE Shave Proraso Pre Shave Colgate Mug Jayaruh #144 Gem Jr. 1911 Lather Catcher Henckels Wedge CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Colgate Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher Razor with an Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SOTD 1/06/2018 RAZOR: BOSS 3 Piece Extra Heavyweight - All Metal Textured Safety Razor Long Handle (4 inch handle, 4.8 ounces) BLADE: Dorco Platinum ST-300 - 8th use of this blade. PREP: hot water face wash with Ivory soap PRE SHAVE: used bloom water on face - nice scent and somewhat slick BRUSH: Shea Moisture Badger Brush - black badger knot. SOAP: Erasmic Shave Stick - this is my 5th go around with this soap - still learning. POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse followed by application of CRYSTAL deodorant (deodorant stone - potassium alum) AFTER SHAVE: Aqua Velva Ice Blue BALM: Maison the Collection - Moroccan Mint Tea Lotion I used bloom water from the Erasmic Stick as a pre-shave, this soap is not near as slick as Williams Mug soap. The SheaMoisture Brush has a good black badger knot- a little too much loft for me and is a bit of a lather hog, but very soft. I was not able to get the kind of rich, thick lather that I am used to. I'm sure it is my technique with the shave stick. Next time I use the Erasmic, I will try my Fendrihan synthetic brush and hope for improved lather. Got a nice 2-pass mostly BBS. I had 2 spots that needed more touchup than I was willing to give with this thin lather. Nevertheless, achieved a close, smooth and clean shave with a great face feel. Hope the weather warms up to more normal temps. Have a great weekend.
BiC blades are my favorite. It's like they were made for my skin type and beard type. They shave perfect in nearly all my razors which is why they were my overall pick for a 100-blade box buy.
January 2018 Shavettes and Jeeves January! January 6 Razor - Feather SS Artist Club Blades - (1) Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum I know, it's about time. Finally a shavette shave today to go along with Jeeves January. I picked up the Feather SS, loaded a Pro blade, lathered the Jeeves up with the 30DC LE and went at it. It's been awhile since I used the pain stick but it was right on target. I still really enjoy using this razor and had a two pass shave, DFS result, and the alum was only mildly warm. I was a little heavy handed but that will fade away as I use it more this month. No blood, which is the desired result along with a very fine shave. Hope you're all having a great weekend. Waiting to see what the weather does here tonight and tomorrow. We're finally getting above freezing for the first time in about 10 days, but we have rain coming. Time it wrong and we'll have a good ol' Saint Louis ice storm!
