07 January 2018 One of my resolutions for 2018 is to use up blades that I've accumulated over the years that are not in my preferred rotation of Personna red, Astra SP, Gillette 7 O'Clock green and Gillette Nacet. I was impressed by the Personna Med Preps and the Wizamet Iridium Supers that I used the past two weeks. This morning I loaded a Wilkinson Sword blade into the RR slant. Right from the start I could tell it was going to be a chore to arrive at a BBS finish. Seemed like I had to go over and over spots that normally don't need that much attention. The last time I used a WS blade was February of 2017 in a EJ DE87. In fact, for years that was my set up. Only one razor and I got the blades at WalMart. Never had a problem so.....................moral of story that we all know sooner or later, not all blades are compatible with all razors. I use the EJ for travel as it is a mild shaver. And I've narrowed my razors down to two. The slant and a Fatip Grande. I may try a WS in the Fatip some day. Cream: Proraso White Brush: Semogue 620 Bowl: Dollar Tree salsa Razor: RazoRock German 37 slant Blade: Wilinson Sword (1)......and done Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Vanilla

This was such a great shave despite the Astra being on its last legs. Yet it still managed one last hoorah and I ended up super-BBS in just two passes. The Frozen Tundra soap delivered very well on the rich, slick lather and did it ever feel ice-cold, in fact it even made my eyes tear a little while I was lathering up for my second pass. I can't get over its scent which is so nice - that blend of peppermint, wintergreen, and some earthy notes. It not only left my skin well-chilled, but also so moisturized, smooth, and soothed. The Krampert's Frostbite aftershave really freezes your skin and it adds so much protection against dryness or razor burn. Its scent is a mix of frankincense and pine which is indeed lovely, but it never disrupts an eau de toilette because it doesn't last for more than a half hour! Have a great Sunday, my dear friends!
I shaved last Night 1.06.18 with a VALET, I bought it with the blank cardboard blade, no box but appeared unused and sat in a attic for 8 decades. I know nothing about these razors, got lucky as the unmolested SS Feather snapped in perfect. I found this to shave like a More aggressive GEM OCMM, you can feel the Japanese steel! anybody know what type Valet this is? Peace, Jamie....
