Thank you, Andrew! No telling what was the matter with those other blades. The blades from the magazine has always been fine. Oh well. That was an aberration, hopefully. I was quite pleased with the first shave on the PTFE.

Thank you Andrew. I kept going back and forth over the Christmas weekend on the brush. In the end, I decided to give it a try. If my initial impressions hold then I will have a winner for sure. I am going to go through my brush and razor collection and evaluate what really needs to stay in my den.

Welcome aboard. This is a great (and mostly sane) group of guys who just want to help with your learning curve. There may be detours for shenanigans and cookies along the way.

Paul, let's give him a chance to be on the team a bit before we tell him about Mayhem. Wouldn't want to scare him off...

It is different than my other synthetics. The lather works it way deeper into the knot. I will need to spend some time working with it a bit. It does pick up some soap.

    Schick E2 Prototype
    Schick Proline B-20
    Stirling Mountain Man
    Stirling Boar

First shave with the Prototype E2 and the Schick Proline B-20. This razor is one aggressive devil, it has as much blade feel as my Type F and Pal Injecto-Matic if not more! The Proline was very sharp and had no problems handling my 3 days of growth. The Stirling boar did a fantastic job of whipping up a great, slick Stirling Mountain Man lather and after 3 passes I am smoooooth! Have a great day my friends!

After the fridgid weather over the past few days, the temp. is jumping up a bit through Friday. This allows for the opportunity for me to do my first Clubman Gents Gin. A.S. this week, and a review will follow. Might even bring out the Local Gents Fields&Streams, which I hadn't anticipated again till late spring. But no Stoylin Glacials until summer!!!.(Actually, that's just the Wintergreen for summer, as I would have to BUY another one this year....no noo no)

I bet a Proline in the E2 was quite an experience! Light, light, light pressure. I'll try it sometime next month.

On top of that Perry, I think this prototype has more blade exposure then the production E2

You're right, but if he had contacted me about that, I'd just said I was being silly.

Yikes! I got the E2 out a couple of weeks ago and did just a couple of strokes and put it down. It just didn't feel good, which was strange. It's languished in it's spot since then. I look forward to trying it again soon with the Proline or the Personna blade.
