    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline B20
    Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector
    Brush: Surrey badger
Soap: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave
    WTG, touch up

As @clint64 indicated it's back to reality after a tremendous game last night. Proud of the Crimson Tide for yet another championship! It was hard to get going this morning but at least this shave was spot on. Easy, bountiful, and slick lather set the backdrop for a successful shave with the Schick 66 and Proline blade. Pretty effortless and quite enjoyable.

    Have a great day!

I am late to the party @cmorris357. Keeping your FIL in prayers.

I don't know when I will catch up with this rolling truck of a thread.

I jumped onto the shavette train early this morning with the plastic Lord razor. A great shave came around. It felt like a video morning so I did.

Wow. Step away from this thread for a day at your own peril. Catching up is not for the meek.
Very cool handle Jason! Not hinting or fishing here, just admiring your work.

Wait. You’re finishing a tub in January? You met my goal for the year less than two weeks in.

    On it, Chris.

I’m not feeling the shavette thing this month, but have learned with some time with a straight that you have to be patient. Technique takes time and practice, and there are really no short cuts. Any time I think I’m ahead of schedule or get too confident, the blade has a way of reminding me that “time takes time”.

My first 30 days on this thread I learned that each time I thought I was using “no pressure” that I hadn’t yet learned what “no pressure” means yet. It takes time to unlearn an ingrained habit. Don’t focus on the results, just the technique. The results will come over time seemingly through “osmosis”. Again, time takes time.

There are still embers of the great cookie rebellion smoldering in my heart.

Great advice. That sound Adam is referring to was best described to me as “buttering toast”. If you hear that sound you are doing something right.

    Again, smoldering embers. Just saying.

Back to battle after a weekend down. Decided to go with some PdP 63 paired with B&M Reserve Classic for a great post shave feel. Worked with the Futur clone for another day with the Voskhod blade. Lathered it all up with the JR 177. [IMG]

First shave with a GEM earlier this morning. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I found it to be quite a similar shave to what I’m used to. With the long ‘top’, the angle is fairly intuitive, and I had a routine, pleasant 3 pass shave. A little different technique around the upper lip, but a very similar result, actually. I’d call this a DFS with no red.
I hadn’t used this soap in quite awhile and it is just wonderful. It has long been one of my favourite combinations of scent and performance. As good a lather as anything in my den. Unfortunately, I don’t believe it will be available any more. It was on sale on Black Friday at canadianbladeco, and now the Etsy store from the artisan doesn’t seem to exist. I fear that this will be a Queen Charlotte Soaps/ @Keithmax type of thing. I did pick up an extra tub on Black Friday, so the end is not near.
    Have a great day all!

Congrats on your first GEM shave! They are terrific razors. And I see that Jeeves Tobacco Bay Leaf splash there. It's one of my favorites. Great scent!

Sounds like a great shave this morning, Clint! I guess either way, your team was going to win last night.
Cool pic, Jim. My CJB is in transit as well.
Great combo, Perry. The Jeeves is good stink, and the 66 is an assassin!
That plastic razor looks pretty lethal, Fuzzy!
    Beautiful combo, Mark!
Bad weather today, Doug? You're taking pictures inside!
