  2. I picked up a "No-Razor Shaver" for one of my neighbors.

He uses depilatory cream to shave his head. Once he asked to borrow a bladeless razor to scrape off the cream and hair. I was concerned what the chemicals might do to the finish on my vintage Gillette. Check your local Beauty Supply Store. If you don't see them let me know and I'll shoot one your way.
    Really roughing it, aye Brian?

January 9 - Stirling Iced Coffee Review

Razor - Feather SS Artist Club
    Blades - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Stirling Iced Coffee
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Staying with the pain stick but switching to Stirling Iced Coffee for the soap. This one is on sale for the 4.5 ounce puck so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The lather quality is all Stirling. The scent is really intriguing. Defintely like a dark roast coffee, you can easily pick up the hazelnut accent and the menthol brings you a nice and refreshing cool down at the end. There's almost a Mocha hint as well, but I think that's just the hazelnut working with it. I rarely gush about a soap, but I'll highly recommend this one. This one is a "must have" for my den. I noticed they only show the 4.5oz puck right now and only 30 left. I'm hoping that just setting things up for a new run.

As for the shave, no problems at all. The JR54 had no problems at all, which was expected, and it was smooth sailing all the way. I actually did three passes with the pain stick just because I wanted to play with that lather longer and the alum stayed fairly quiet. That extra pass did add a bit of heat to it. Still, no disappointments here!

  4. The new CJB is a great razor. Definitely fixed the spring problem from the original and you can now get a pain stick at a great price. My first pain stick was the original CJB and if the spring hadn't broken I'd still be using it.

  5. I've looked for one for the CJB but haven't found one. If anyone does, let me know. Also, just a heads up on the one for the Feather SS - breaks easily on the hinge area. You can still snap it together, but yeah.

  6. Careful letting those embers get to hot. The Cartel hired a new "attitude counselor" today. Say hello to Natalia.

For some reason, I wanted to use this Joris again. Too bad, it is hard to find the 7'Oclock Blue blades. I guess the cartel decided not to share them.

    Williams Wednesday

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Treet
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: JR #41 black badger
    Soap: Williams
Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave
    WTG, touch up

A shave right in Fuzzy's wheelhouse today. Really nice results overall. I wrote in the SOTD thread that modern Williams, in my opinion, is good soap. It's a little finicky to lather but with patience and attention you can achieve nice, slick, and stable lather that's just as good as many other soaps I have. Now, is it as good as Stirling? Definitely not, but it's certainly not a bad soap. I'm really smooth after using it today and would not hesitate to use it again soon.

@wchnu graciously sent me a couple of Treet carbon blades to audition. The one today was nice and smooth and the G-Bar felt terrific. Quite enjoyable shave all around.

    Enjoy your day!

Another excellent shave this morning. I think I am getting the hang of Mike's soap and am now getting enough loaded and adding water slowly. When I do my part the resulting lather is rich and slick. This was my first use of Wild Honeysuckle scent and I like it. Three passes and some some touch ups ended with me just missing the baby which is more than good enough on a work morning. A splash of Fine L'Orange Noir and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
