I think it is the friendship and bonding on this thread that allow people to open up about things going on in their life. I know I share things on this thread that I don't share on my motorcycle forums or other shaving forums.
Agreed, 30DC is amazing in the friendships I have made with you guys. In related items, I got a great piece of news today. I got an offer for a job, it starts Monday, and will be splitting my time between my current job and the new one until this contract ends. Same company, pay, and benefits, and it will go through 2021. Feels like the bricks are off my shoulders and I can breathe again.
I agree, Clint. It helps that we share a mutual interest in wet-shaving but that's what brought us here to start with. The bonding just happened. That's wonderful news, Adam! Congratulations, buddy. I'm happy for you!
I agree, Clint. It just suddenly struck me that I've said more prayers for more people on the 30DC than I have ever done outside church. And thinking about other internet forums I belong or have belonged to -- other shaving forums, guns, motorbikes, books, fountain pens, politics -- I honestly can't recall the matter ever even coming up...
That's great news, Adam! And in line with what we were just talking about, I guess I will continue with prayers for spiritual support to your employees and their families over the next few months as they seek new opportunities but you yourself at least are less in need of them...
I'm caught up now on posts since last night. Instead of doing a multi-quote post, I'm going to do a blanket post praising all of you who posted about your shaves today... awesome photos, and terrific shave gear! All of you inspire me in this hobby of ours. Now my dogs are reminding me about the time.... 4 pm (Mountain Time). We normally do a walk at this time. When we got up this morning the temperature was 48F. No wind. Very pleasant. The weather has been quite nice the last few days. Temps in the 40s and 50s. That melted all of our snow. The air temperature now is 15F. The wind is blowing at 36 mph out of the NW and the wind chill is minus 7F. And it's snowing. I might try a short one with them.
I agree that the 30 Day Crew is a special bunch. This is a rare group for the internet. Perhaps a 30DC meet-up should happen. Sometime...somewhere. Would love to meet you all in person.
Recently received a puck of Williams as a gift, works great for me. It’s one of my favorite DE razors. I have more than 6o, plus 100s of GSB and Iridium Super. Given my use of straights I’m good on blades. Thank you for the offer, it is appreciated. Must be the water, Williams is very easy for me to lather. While the Joris is not my most aggressive razor it is in the very aggressive camp. It has the same geometry as the Fatip. That is terrible news, my thoughts are with you and your brother. I came because of the terrible irritation and ingrown hairs I got from carts. I thought for this much $$$ I should be getting great shaves. Even though I am spending more I am thrilled with me shaves. Congratulations Adam, that is great news.
Another out of focus day, plus no pic. Took an extra 10 minutes sleep, I had a late night out and was not feeling focused enough for a straight. Decided to go with my Cobra Classic, it provides a great shave and probably the fast shave out of all my options. The Hasslinger was slick and plenty of cushion, despite eluding me for the last week the epic shave finally showed up again.
