    Fantastic news Adam! Congrats.

There is something about this thread and regular contact with this great group of guys that makes it easy to share real life with. Not sure what it is, but as many have posted, I’m thankful for the friendships here and the generous “I’ve got your back” attitude. Thanks guys.

It's a decent razor. I am sure you can find better quality razors out there, but this one works. I am getting used to the short blade, still.

And now a post from me today about something completely different -- shaving!

Wednesday January 10 - same old, same old
    Gillette Canadian pre-War Triangle Tech / Voskhod ( 3)
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
    Jeeves Turkish Bath soap
    Alum and Jeeves Barbershop splash

Third day with this rig. Same results - a good shave with no drama.

I did notice one thing today: my Turkish Bath soap doesn't seem to have much scent right now. Compared to my other three Jeeves soaps it now seems almost scentless, even compared to the Private Study which is just as old a tub. Has anybody else noticed the Turkish Bath / Barbershop soap losing scent strength?

Well said, Clint. I agree completely, the folks on this thread are a lot of fun, helpful, and compassionate. I share more on here than I do with a lot of people I see face to face everyday.

Thanks, Andrew! I was beginning to feel weak from the loss of blood the last couple of days. :p

I agree with everyone else. I'm still a rookie on TSD, having just joined in August, and I only joined the 30 Day Crew in December, this thread feels more and more like a home away from home. I've gotten to feel very comfortable here (in spite of the undercurrent of revolutionary fervor out there and the iron fist of repression by the powers that be, i.e. @NCoxSTL) and think of you as friends.

. Thanks guys. I was thinking I would be searching for a while, but had put some feelers out. Based on some work I did on a related program in 2010, they basically picked me up before I went anywhere else. I don’t have a job description or defined duties yet, but this was actually the project I wanted to work on the most at my company. I’ve also gotten leads for most of my employees to. That’s going to be my main focus for the next couple months.

Today’s shave was pretty good. Broke out the disposalable shavette today, courtesy of Fuzzy. It’s super light, but easy to use. Required a light touch and a good lather. I worked the lather a little slower and added the water slower, and got some of the best lather I have ever made. Alum had some hot spots, but overall a DFS.

Cost of carts was one of my considerations in starting but, more than that, the desire to create less waste. All of the carts are plastic with steel in them. The disposables are all plastic. The shave cream/gel cans are all basically collected in landfills as well, from what I can ascertain. So. A chance to save money and help eliminate tons of plastic waste? Sounded good. Check on eliminating the waste, and yes, best shaves of my life and I love the whole process. Saving money? Ok, sure, at some point it will even out, right? Good enough for me.

Some of the shaves I've survived were probably closer to miracles than shaves.

Ok, I'm going to speak up. For over a year I've had kind of an idea for a group get together. It's a tricky and even difficult task to pull off given the geographic boundaries of our little group. East Coast to West, North to South, Canada, and, of course, Seoul, South Korea. Here's the idea that I nearly proposed about 13 months ago but decided to keep it to myself. I think at this point it may be time to toss it out for discussion.

I think a weekend event would be great, somewhere as central to everyone as we can make it which, other than Seoul, would be St. Louis. Yes, it is Cartel HQ but.....it's central U.S. with a major airport, plenty of facilities within the metro area to find a place to all get together, and if we schedule it right we might even get in a baseball game as part of the time. If the idea seems reasonable I would even volunteer to coordinate on this end with finding the hotel, maybe trying to get a nice dinner Saturday evening, maybe convincing a few vendors to show up with some wares and whatever else we thought might make for a great weekend together.

Obviously the main focus would just be to get to see everyone who could come in person and just have some good face time. The other stuff we could put together would be optional, such as the baseball game. IF we have enough, though, I can probably arrange a group discount at Busch so it would cost everyone less than a regular ticket etc.

Ok, it's now in the public domain. Thoughts, discussion, and we'll see where it goes. Oh, as far as timing, Summer would give everyone the most time to arrange their schedules including Keith. Probably July/August to avoid school issues for those with kids etc.

Now that the ice has been broken, I'm open to the idea. The location makes sense since Neal is there and can do some basic coordination there. Summer makes sense. Most people take time off in the summer, especially if they have children. It's definitely worthy of discussion... even if it turns out to be impractical or impossible to implement.

It would be fun. Will there be cookies?

Yes. Cookies for everyone. Seconds for those still in the re-education program. If they're good.
