Stirling says their samples are all at least 1oz. They aren't measured precisely and he claims it's generally more than what is on the packages or tubs. He packs it in there. So, yes, I would claim it to be more than one. Glad to be on the list!
Go for it! It's inexpensive and the pucks are only 1.75 ounces so they won't last forever like other tubs of soap. Nice report! I think I remember @Primotenore doing the same thing with some Fat when he got down to smaller pieces. Rubbed it on like a shave stick and then lathered away. Post a couple here, please! I think the G1 and G4 are pretty similar. Love the G1. That’s my favorite all-time injector.
I will be praying for Bob and Kathy. This is awesome news Adam! Congrats on reeling in the epic shave, Keith! Very Nice, Neal! Awesome shot, Rick! I dont feel bad about rinsing excess lather down the sink anymore! Too much soap to use up! Congrats Brain! When do you move in ? Awesome photo, Clint! 13 shaves of heavy loading, imagine how many you could get if you were a soap miser. Probably double that! Great photo, Jim! I bet if you relocate all of the soap to the middle of the dish you can resume bowl loading it just fine! Stirling samples are listed at 1oz, but I bet they are truly more like 1.5 oz. I have a digital scale coming in tomorrow and will weight a few just for fun! Fantastic photo, Mark! That little bottle of cream looks familiar
I forgot to add about this morning's shave-another difference from yesterday was using the Jayaruh #59 brush.
January 11th GEM Jr w GEM Stainless (3) 30DC LE Stirling The Lounge Thayers Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender 3rd day with this razor, 1st with this soap that came via trade. The usual excellent Stirling lather with a scent that I’d describe as Tabac-esque. Not a straight up dupe, but a similar tobacco scent. Less Old Lady’s purse, and more Old Man’s club chair. It is very well named. This CL A/S seems to be a nice compliment as well. Another nice, smooth shave with this razor and blade. This one is staying in the rotation for sure. Have a great day all!
Nice photo, Jason! I really liked the scent of the lounge, but one of the FO's didn't agree with my face.
Thank you Andrew. @Boojum1 and I got the Proraso Single Blade cream and needed a tube to put the cream in for daily use. Mark found one that worked and sent me the link on Amazon.
Thank you, Andrew. I got a bit of a tingle from it myself, actually. Almost like it was lightly mentholated, but it isn’t. No redness or anything, though. I do get a worse reaction from SDM. Can’t use it.
Another great vintage look, Rick! Looks like that brush is starting to break in nicely, Clint! Yup, love the ‘66’! Ouch, sorry for the red, Jim! Great filter effect, though. Another beautiful combo, Mark.
January 11, 2018 Razor: English FB Tech Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum (2) Brush: Semogue 620 Cream: Simpsons Luxury Cream Post: Alum, Listerine, WH A new brush has entered my den. The Semogue 620 was a generous PIF from @MR41. It actually arrived on Tuesday but, with everything going on, I didn't have it in my hands until yesterday. It was a pleasure to use a boar brush that wasn't trying to fall apart in my hand. Yesterday, @Linuxguile asked me how the Flat Bottom Tech compared to the US Pre-War one. My initial reaction was to say that it was a bit milder; upon reflection, I'd say that "smoother" is more the correct word. Looking at the two side-by-side, it's clear that the FB Tech is a bit heavier and has a thicker baseplate. In that regard, it is more like a New than a Tech. It's definitely worth finding one if you are a Tech fan. BBS or close enough with no issues.
Thanks for the description of Lounge. I'm wondering if people have compared it to Gentleman in any way.
