Terrific, aromatic 2 pass, minor touch-up BBS shave this morning! May have to spring for a bulk buy of these Polsilver Super Iridium blades. The slant likes them. My face loves them. I'll assume my whiskers hate them as they're nowhere to be found!

Soap: RazoRock Puros - delicious tobacco scent
    Brush: Omega 10086 boar
    Razor: RazoRock German 37 slant
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Aftershave: RazoRock Puros - long lasting, delicious scent

  2. I needed approximately 20 shaves with my 2011 R41 before I could get a shave without weepers. Keep at it.

Maggard Limes & Bergamot today. 20 seconds to load the Cowboy Classic/Whipped Dog Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Schick Plus Platinum still in the Gillette Black Beauty. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Stirling Gentleman w/Menthol aftershave.

  5. That Pinaud Special Reserve's color is way different than the bottle I have. Mine is a deep reddish/brown hue. Yours looks light blue to my eye. Are there two flavors available?
  6. Weber DLC razor
    Silver Star blade
    Maggard Synthetic brush
    TSD Iced Lemon Grass SS
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe

3 shaves are the limit for me with Silver Star blades but those are really nice shaves. All ready to go and my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks
  7. Thanks, Steve, and I greatly appreciate having this brush as the Snakewood handle is a joy to photograph and admire. The patterns are superb. :)

An excellent shave today with the Aristocrat and Bolzano blade combo. Along with the Omega cream, which is really great, I did two passes for a nearly perfect BBS shave. Just a couple of spots under the goatee for touch up.

  12. I’m learning my Yellow/Green Thuri so I shaved again with the Lund after some light touch up. Smoother, sharper. The shave went from good to very good, almost great. :happy088: Slowly, slowly I learn more. I’ll be sticking with the Lund and my Big Napoleon for a while while I learn more about what works best. :)

Probably my last shave for a few days... Going for oral surgery today, gonna have chipmunk cheeks for a while. Wish me luck!

Shave of the day featuring today's mail call: 1938-1945 (triangle slot) Gillette fat handle Tech. I won this razor in an eBay auction for cheap. It's in great shape. Extremely smooth yet efficient. Pretty happy with my purchase.
  14. Did not even notice. I remember it also bring much darker. Only use it during cooler months and i am guessing it is 4 years old. Still had same Smokey, leather, tobacco scent it always had. Dye must have faded

  16. SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180112_123756.jpg

    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Razorock Hawk

    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: PAA The Beach
Post: Lucky Tiger, St James Of London Sandalwood Bergamot EDT

Had a really enjoyable shave this afternoon. Put a fresh blade in the RR Hawk and it was smooth sailing the whole way. The scent of The Beach would have been perfect for yesterdays weather since it was nice and warm here in Detroit. But today it was a grim reminder that it is indeed winterBBS finish, did get a nick on my moustache area but other than that it was a great shave. Finished off with Sandalwood Bergamot which smells great. Hope everyone had a great shave!
  17. Razor: Above The Tie SE1 w/ Hempel Ti Handle

    A/S: Old Spice Fresh Lime
Bowl: The Distinctive Goat Sinker Log Shaving Bowl

Went up to 45F yesterday with rain. Rained all night, now we are waiting for a flash freeze. Happy Friday. :)

  18. Thanks Doug! If you haven't tried Grooming Dept yet, you may want to check it out. One of the best soaps on the market IMO, along with WK, Storybook Soapworks, and L&L.

After yesterday's disappointment I thought I'd renew my faith in DEs, so I fetched the ever reliable OT.
The cream was gifted to me by a TSR member and I was very impressed indeed, a quick sniff, ah citrus, 4711 will suit it nicely.
Citrus? It's a whole bloody orchard, with apple dominant.
Slickness isn't bad, cushion very good and the Old Type danced around my face like a spring chicken, not bad considering that it'll become a Centenarian at some point this year.
A great end to the week indeed.
